NO, since the Y-9 is a much-modernised Y-8 (An-12) tactical transport, whereas, yes the new Y-20 a new large one is …. but so far nothing afficial in regard to its external apperance.

Latest news was, that the structure assembly of the Y-20 prototype 001 has been completed and has been “handed over (?) … Otherwise at least the official “Roll out” (or some say even “First flight”) is expected to be before the 18th National People’s Congress by the end of this year.

Yes, it sucks so badly that it won export orders long before the Rafale did. :p

This is down to price, as there’s not enough between the two planes in terms of quality to make a difference (at least in India’s eyes). If Dassault can deliver the Rafale for the price they offered, they deserved to win the contact. If they grossly underbid then they should be ashamed of themselves. It’s that simple.

Waiting for the 4th version of Pak-fa to fly, from articles i have read, they said the 4th plane will fly after the 3rd has been delivered near Moscow for further trials. From Flateric we know that its been delivered there in late December. Possibly flying in late January of Febuary?.
