Who cares, we aren’t going to win it with the squad we have this year, the Kiwis always bottle it and will no doubt drop out in the semis, France/Aussie final with the Aussies winning it just to wind up the Kiwis.

The only issue I have with all this world cup thing is that we’ll suffer as a club for a couple of months, despite the strong players coming through the academy and the summer signings. Probably won’t bet top of the table until January at the earliest :dev2:

Tricky one on the shirts as it is technically paying tribute to the hosts but how would we like it if the Boks started putting English stuff on their shirts? Not that I have any idea what could be put on that would be classed as English and not be laughed down.

Cynical marketing ploy and another cash cow to milk dry.

“We have 24 hrs to save the NHS” what went wrong?.
    Jim.

    Lincoln .7

Due to cuts waiting times went up, didn’t anyone tell you.

Part of the problem is the people who are most important and work hard either on wards or behind the scenes and give the job the maximum effort because they care, however they are treated very poorly by those higher up and the government as everyone knows they will carry on doing their best with what ever resources are available.

HR hopeless remains, still can’t even confirm that Mrs is going to have a job in 2 weeks time, talk about stress and lack of respect for an individual, if I had my way I’d stick every NHS HR member up against the wall and shoot them right now.

People seem to assume that every NHS manager works in a hospital or directly with patients, there is a lot behind the scenes, such as recruitment and training doctors.

Do agree though that there are those who are promoted above their level of incompetence and can think of several right now.

HR!!! Why did Personnel ever have to be remamed, anyway? To make it sound “better” so that we could spend more money on the same people. In the days when I was an employee you talked through your problems, hopes, worries etc with your boss, because that was one of his jobs.

But it’s easier to treat resources like cr@p than personnel or people.

And update, Mrs didn’t get the job so with 2 weeks to go she’s facing a demotion but still no idea what job, and with which department.

Get rid of HR departments within the NHS, our local deanery is having a restructure, no idea why when there will be another one in a year or so, however thanks to HR being poor, my wife has been forced to apply for a new job as her current position won’t exist in the new structure.

The jobs available will be either a promotion or demotion.

The jobs she could apply for came out and there were 6 days to decide what to apply for and get the application in, clearly not something you need much time to think about.

However it gets even better she was informally told (having had to chase instead of being contacted) on Monday that she would have the interview today and it would require a presentation. Today after she had left for the interview the post arrived with a letter telling her that she had been successful in her application and could she come for an interview.

This is only the latest in a very very long list of **** ups and incompetent actions that has caused much stress and upset to a lot of not only my wife but a lot of other members of staff who are in the same situation.

How long before another pointless enquiry attempts to reverse this decision? Lets hope this is an end to a sad event and pathetic follow up.

Glen Miller was actually diverted to a top secret mission in the Far East and is currently living on a small farm somewhere in the Australian outback, trying to put off treasure hunters looking for his cache of 20 fully crated and zero hours Spitfires

Whilst this is no defence of them, not all journalists at the NotW were corrupt and things may have changed there so closing down and rebranding a paper is not the solution, those responsible, encouraged or turned a blind eye to practices are the ones who should be brought to justice.

However how many enquiries really do result in more than a slap on the wrist or fine these days.

Can’t say I care for any of the gutter trash, if I read a paper I want news not gossip and I want it to last more than 2 minutes
