Flying in the back set of a F-15/16 on a courtesy flight don’t count.
Im quite sure with all his contacts in the military Yeager is kept abreast of developments.
I’m quite sure that any “contracts” he had retired long ago.
In the meantime he has likely been sitting around and reading AVWeek chuck full of Wheeler/Sprey “expert” opinions, doomsday prediction “risks” from Gilmore, “We’ve already spent $400Billion/$1.5Trillion”, etc. If you truly want to know about the details of the program, you have to do a lot of digging & listening to presentations. Both of which he likely has never done given his one-line responses on Twitter.
Consider the fact that these military contacts will tell Yeager the truth that they wont tell the general public, for fear of reprisals from the Pentagon for not toeing the political line.
I am getting real tired of the “everything positive about the F-35 is PR & they’re too afraid to speak the truth” BS.
Gen YEager retired in 75, not 1997 and he spent the last few active years as an adviser to the Pakistani Gov.
His last command of a US unit ended in 71, prior to the F-16 ro F-16 goring IOC, so he had no experience with them.
The only thing he did post 75 was maintain his active flight status, which was more political than anything else.
Who said can’t be built and what does that have to do with anything being said here?
They are not a waste because the US has been in the business of ensuring it can maintain Air Dominance in any battlefield. They learned their lessons in Vietnam of having parity/near-parity and they did not like it.
Without the the F-22/35 & T-50/J-20/J-31 Just meas that our F-15/16/18s would be facing Mig-35s & Su-35s. We would not put up with that level of parity and quite frankly being a little behind the 8-ball with some of those.
Neither Yaeger have done.
He just responded to a question through his own twitter not through some magazine , even if him, differently by the most of us, would be naturally qualified for doing so.
Sorry that I was not clear enough.
“Neither should anyone count Gen. Yeager as an expert on modern air warfare.”
The “he” is addressed to anyone who says “Look what Gen. Yeager said!!! The F-22/35 must be a POS if he said so.”
Better than a young retard who only dreams of getting unemployment benefits & stay on his fat **** all day long.
Nic
Actually, I’m old fart who served his country and is currently gainfully employed as a programmer in the Healthcare industry.
I am not offering up myself as an expert in modern combat.
However, neither should he.
Would you trust a mechanic from the 60’s to work on your new Tesla?
You are aware that while an item could be build outside the US, it was developed here by LM, P&W, NG, etc.
Nice pic. The brightness (red) looked to suspicious to me. But if you say so.
Keep in mind that CF-05 is an SDD (ie “orange wire”) bird, not an operational one.
there was nothing to deter when f-22 entered service, and there wont be anything to deter before the f-22 retires
Pak-Fa and J-20 would like a word….
–Damn my fingers
The red lightniong bolt is not a PS, it is CF-05.
The Japanese & Israeli ones are PS.

nah…F-22 hasnt done squat for USAF beside costing money so that definitely disproves your point
I guess every Los Angeles class sub and ICBM were a waste of money too since they never fired a nuke.
The F-22 has already proven in countless exercises that nothing can stand up to it.
Some day it will do the same in combat.
For something that Yeager says is a waste, it’s funny that Russia & China are clamoring to copy it’s capabilities and the ROW wishes that it had one.
My bad on his combat record.. he flew a few hundred hours in Vietnam too.
On the issue of the F-15, his last command of US forces ended in ’71, before the F-15 went IOC.
My point still stands, he has no experience with modern air-warfare and his calling the F-22 a waste of money just proves my point.
