A few from yesterday…
XV109

XR807

it’s good to know they will get preserved. (Assuming that’s whats happening to them).
No such luck. Spares recovery and then pots and pans 🙁
VC10’s XV109 and XR807 were retired to Bruntingthorpe earlier today. Below is some of my photos and video…

Decommissioning had already started before I’d left the airfield:mad:
In the video, XV109 lands first followed by XR807.

I’m down on wednesday do you want paint on them if it’s a good day, won’t take long to roller on some so they look better matched ??
Thanks but no thanks Matt. The tanks are going to be repaired, etch primed and painted with 2-pack prior to the open day!
We got them on there in the end Matt:D
544 for the new engine then
No! 544’s engine is already in there being worked on and wont be ready for ground running for a month or two.
I was referring to 894 which hopefully will get a new paint job 😮
working on it, but i’m not down for a couple of weeks so maybe someone else will take some
I’ll take some on Saturday Matt as we’ll hopefully moving the Bucc in there:D
Matt,
The ARC52 is also fitted to the Bucc and my manuals should cover what you are after. I will have a look later and email you the drawings.
Cheers,
I saw it but it was to far away to identify:mad:
After flying over town, it then did a few flypasts over the SAS camp:confused:
The Quicksinker isn’t sunk yet! I only ran the Spey in the space frame for the team last year! The frame is much more complete now with high power runs set to take place in July this year.
Dont write it off just yet!
Got a feeling that your confusing me with someone! My Dad is the one and only firefighter for the Buccaneer! Im the 15 year old that stands about looking good. 😎 I was at the open day carrying the fire extinguisher/ladders and bits.
Ah! Right, that makes perfect sense now! The other Chris must still be in Canada where we left him then!
No problem, we will have to give you the full cockpit tour next time you visit!
Very nice video, not seen the inside of the front before 😀 Chris
Chris your back 😮
The front is much the same as the back but with a bit more going on :diablo:
I took these of of XW530 at Elgin in September last year…
