Yesterday after many times of trying to shoot some of the low flying mil stuff that buzzes the M6 in Cumbria(spent many visits to the wee car park and waited in vain for nothing!!) just caught a couple of Herks zooming through the valley, hurriedly grabbed the camera… shot about 40, then realised the settings were completely wrong!!! Aarghhh!! oh well, the photoshopped results below (Sorry for the mil mods):

And finally to today, a very quiet work day and some decent light resulted in the below at Glasgow:

A couple of shots of Loganair Saab in BA colours…. Get ’em while you can…. noticed there are now a couple in basic Flybe colours:

Then i headed for the hills to a good vantage point for getting 05 landings in the great scenery;

after a runway change even managed to get the EK coming back out from the hills:
Thats ma lot!!
I have a maybe daft question,I have just watched the A380 landing on Sky and I was a bit puzzeled has to why only one of the two engine’s seen had its reverse thrust on,I presume that the same happened on the side you could not see.
Iam sure that every time i have seen and A340 or 747 land all the thrusters have been used.Paul

I believe it has no reversers on the outboard engines. It is because runways are so thin that the outboard engines overhang the runway edges, therefore a danger of the engine ingesting debris from the grass.
Very nice.
I like trying to get these kind of shots myself, have a few similar shots from LHR myself.

Do i not remember seeing them flying services into the UK many moons ago (LHR maybe?)
Excellent Fab
Had no idea that TNT had lumps, looks pretty good in the scheme too.
Well done.
Smashing stuff and welcome to the forum.
some great subjects in there.. good job.
Thanks lads
The RYR was circling overhead for a couple of times before making it’s approach, it just looked like a normal speed landing, did notice the airbrakes deployed before hitting the deck, and, it touched down very sharp… not long after the piano keys and the reversers deployed sharp too. A great job by the crew to make it really a non event thankfully.
Welcome aboard!:D
And a fine introduction too, great catch on the CJ, very smart indeed.
A fine set Josh.
I’ll say hi next time i spy you when i’m down south.
Very fine set there David.
If i had to pick bones, one or two may need rotated a wee bit(most obvious the FlyBe DHC-8) a good way to get the horizon level when editing is to use a vertical object in shot as a guide. (but not the leaning tower of Pisa:dev2:
Great job though fave is the Globey 767 nose shot..nice!
Thanks guys.
Yes Andy it was me in the mean machine I saw you guys on my left and was sure I saw you too Josh, actually i’d said to my partner that I bet some of the guys at the garage were off of the forum! great weather indeed for shooting, just a shame it gets dark so early.
Cheers guys
Andy; I thought the same about the 146, however it was only in for about an hour. I’m guessing this is one of the chaps that had been stored at Exeter?
Allen; hehe had to think about that one for a minute.
Sunday… After doing a river cruise in the morning (You can take the spotter out the airport… yadda ..yadda.. yadda)
A drop back in to the petrol station to fill up, and grab another half hour shooting:

Then a jump into Luton before the sun went to bed:

Then off to home for us.
You wont find it on the PIK arrivals board, as it’s freight.
Best bet would be to join the EGPK spotters group or Scotavnet for info, or you could ask AN225HVY a contributor here who knows all to know of the big beastie.
No, mate.
That’s a sharp right-hand turn out from a 23L departure……. :diablo:
Sheesh… KLM pilot oin training for the Red Bull Air races :dev2: :diablo: 😀
