Unfortunately that is rubbish, they are far safer states to live in than the UK, unless you choose to live outside the law.

That may, or may not be, the case. I honestly wouldn’t not know.

But that doesn’t come close to addressing the point that if the death penalty were an effective deterrent – as most of it’s proponents claim – it would seldom, if ever, have to be used in those countries where it is still on the statute books.

As this is clearly not the case, then it is reasonable to conclude that it does not have the deterrent effect that is often claimed.

You cannot class these murderers as human, therefore it is not a human life that is being State taken.

Think about what you are saying here, and consider where it leads.

The attempted guilt trip by using that word doesn’t wash.

Is that really what you believe opposition to the death penalty is all about? Putting some stranger on the Internet into a guilt trip?

I most certainly have heard of it.

However, I don’t think it means what you think it means – and neither does the Ministry of Justice.

Well G.A. in a way it was ironic, inasmuch, as he who lives by the sword……..

The death in agony of a human being may very well be ironic, but I would hope that no decent person could ever find it amusing.

The case I am on about is where a man sexualy assaulted a young girl in 1974, a sample of his DNA was taken, but the methods used to test the DNA were not so good, and he walked.Lack of evidence!!.
His DNA has again recently been subjected to further, more modern DNA testing which proved he did assault the young girl, ergo he has been arrested.
Now, how does that relate to what you were referring to?.

Robbo. Sadly these days, its the real world I live in, not a fantasy one, and the scenario, actualy happened.

Law in this country isn’t made on the basis of individual cases, and nor should it ever be.

We don’t get to pick and choose which laws apply to which cases, and when.
