Boiled Blood clots! With Mushy peas and Vinegar for the sour preference, or topped with Apple Chutney for the sweet toothed.

Ugh!

Disgusting muck!

Talking of GREAT Britain, I was saddened today to read that we’ve lost more men and women in Afghanistan than the rest of the EU countries added together – 356 against 298.

What does that say about this country ?

That our defence and foreign policies have become too closely aligned with those of an overwhelmingly stronger foreign power whose interests do not always coincide with our own?

But when you go to some of these nations, you realise that the “Norm” is a bunch of bone-idle lazy ill-educted so-n-sos that truly believe that the world OWES them a living and they are quite prepared to sit on their ar5e all day waiting…….whilst on a mobile phone of course.

Totally unlike our own green and pleasant land, then. :rolleyes:

I notice everyone on AW has studiously avoided mentioning the fact that the “we will not prostitute ourselves” team at MAN is back on the street corner with the other toms,having got FR back but pretending it’s a different situation if they use T2 at off peak times!!

Well, that’s certainly one point of view. 😎

All I see is a business exploring an opportunity to make money, but I appreciate that may not be dramatic or confrontational enough for some people’s taste.

Meanwhile, here In the real world, direct grant aid to India is being replaced on a rolling basis by “pro-poor” private investment including through CDC, the state-owned development finance group.

For those of you who don’t know about CDC, they resemble a commercial fund so closely – including having their HQ in an offshore tax haven and paying their senior managers quite eye-watering salaries – that the difference could be seen as academic.

You’d be quite surprised at some of the things that CDC consider to be pro-poor investment, by the way.

Regular readers of Private Eye will know what I mean. The rest of you should do a little digging. 😉
