Meanwhile, here In the real world, direct grant aid to India is being replaced on a rolling basis by βpro-poorβ private investment including through CDC, the state-owned development finance group.
For those of you who don’t know about CDC, they resemble a commercial fund so closely – including having their HQ in an offshore tax haven and paying their senior managers quite eye-watering salaries – that the difference could be seen as academic.
You’d be quite surprised at some of the things that CDC consider to be pro-poor investment, by the way.
Regular readers of Private Eye will know what I mean. The rest of you should do a little digging. π
“Ministry for Administrative Affairs”, PeeDee? No, mate.

They sit on the inside, after all.

Well, the article says that the process has been in use with the US military for some time, so it’s not a complete shot in the dark.
Oh, I would say very much the latter.
Oh, I would say very much the latter.
Time for a new thread.
Time for a new thread.
That’s a cracking spot at Luton, Chris. π

That must have them rolling in the aisles at Embraer and Bombardier. :diablo:
I didn’t hear the word “revolutionary” in the webcast, nor have I read it in any press releases.
Nor have I. I was thinking in terms of the utterances and exclamations of fanboys, much like the rubbish that you quoted someone coming out with about the A380 earlier in the thread.
Boeing are trumping their new 747 is all. Do you expect them to just quietly push it out of the back of the factory and hope no one notices?
Well, you have to admit that would be a revolutionary development. π
