Meanwhile, here In the real world, direct grant aid to India is being replaced on a rolling basis by β€œpro-poor” private investment including through CDC, the state-owned development finance group.

For those of you who don’t know about CDC, they resemble a commercial fund so closely – including having their HQ in an offshore tax haven and paying their senior managers quite eye-watering salaries – that the difference could be seen as academic.

You’d be quite surprised at some of the things that CDC consider to be pro-poor investment, by the way.

Regular readers of Private Eye will know what I mean. The rest of you should do a little digging. πŸ˜‰

“Ministry for Administrative Affairs”, PeeDee? No, mate.

The Ministry of Love, that’s more our style.

Lincoln 7 – You can’t poke sticks through the bars of the cage and then play the injured party when the critters growl at you.

    Heat, kitchen, etc….

The rest of you really should know better than to react to such obvious wind-ups.

    Back on-topic now, please.

    Yet another clean-up.

This time there will be consequences.

No-one affected can claim that they weren’t warned.

Let’s be brutally honest about this.

Most passengers aren’t enthusiasts and couldn’t give a hoot about the type of aircraft they’re flying in, so long as they arrive at their destination reasonably on time and in tolerable comfort.

They sit on the inside, after all.

Well, the article says that the process has been in use with the US military for some time, so it’s not a complete shot in the dark.

I didn’t hear the word “revolutionary” in the webcast, nor have I read it in any press releases.

Nor have I. I was thinking in terms of the utterances and exclamations of fanboys, much like the rubbish that you quoted someone coming out with about the A380 earlier in the thread.

Boeing are trumping their new 747 is all. Do you expect them to just quietly push it out of the back of the factory and hope no one notices?

Well, you have to admit that would be a revolutionary development. πŸ˜€
