Governments want people who know and/or care enough about this issue to be at one another’s throats arguing about the causes of climate change because otherwise they might be joining together and asking awkward questions about what governments are (not) doing to mitigate the effects of climate change – whatever the actual cause or, more likely, combination of causes.

I’ve spoken to apparently sane and responsible people who think – for example – that MPs and MEPs are one and the same thing. Or that Tony Blair was President of the USA. (I promise you I’m not making this up.)

So I’ve learned the hard way not to assume knowledge. 😉

BTW – as I said above, bureaucracy and over-management are nothing new and certainly aren’t restricted to government. It’s just plain daft to pretend otherwise.

While certainly grossly unfair to our modern sensibilities, that’s not directly related to taxation and has absolutely bog-all to do with bureaucracy or with the EU.
