If companies are abusing initiatives like the Fast Track Visa scheme ( and I have no doubt that you are correct in what you say) then surely it is the companies that should be “punished” and not those who grasp an opportunity to improve their economic lot once it is offered to them?

I’m blaming the government for issuing work visas for industries that clearly do not have a skills shortage.

Actually Damien, although a lot of IT development work is contracted out to Indian firms, thanks to modern telecommunications the work itself takes place in India and not in the UK.

Visas aren’t an issue in this instance, because nobody moves anywhere.
