Remember that CO expanded to serve both GLA and EDI. Maybe EK will do the same, maybe they won’t. Time will tell, as always. 🙂

How does this sort of expansion of operations by foreign airlines within Germany go down with the German public, Seahawk?

It’s just a shame that BA doesn’t have the same attitude to long-haul routes from the regions.

Remember that you’re talking about an airline that already serves MAN, BHX, LHR and LGW. 🙂

Call me old-fashioned, EK, but I would expect a massive expansion to involve additional routes and higher frequencies.

A larger aircraft on the same route with the same frequency, most welcome though it is, isn’t quite the same thing.

Your latter point would hold more water if these were the only issues that Amnesty have ever espoused, which is a very very long way indeed from being the case.

And since when was “being in a foreign country without an explanation that would satisfy US military authorities” a justification for imprisonment without trial, anyway?

Remember also that quite a few of the Camp X-Ray detainees were detained in other countries and have never been anywhere near Afghanistan in their lives.

But I don’t expect these inconvenient facts to sway you – you’ve clearly made up your mind.

Wasn’t it the plan to introduce “indefinite executive detention”, which would have been in contravention of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments to the US Constitution?

Which is probably why they imprison people without due legal process on Cuban, rather than US, soil.
