Look – we could all be wiped out by a fecking great asteroid without warning at any time, but we still get up in the morning, don’t we?
If we allow ourselves to be ruled by fear and paranoia then the terrorists will have won, and I presume that none of us want that to happen.
If these terrorists hate our way of life, then surely the worst defeat we can inflict on their influence and credibility is to carry on with that way of life despite their threats. They only have power over us if we ourselves grant it to them.
Don’t listen to the politicians – they want you to be afraid, because scared people ask fewer questions and are easier to rule.
You choose fear suspicion and paranoia if you want to, but don’t expect everyone else to follow suit.
