Ooooh maybe not, Sandy. It’s msn 22885 and it worked for US Air/US Airways from 13/05/1983 until passing into the hands of Metrojet on 1/11/1999.
It joined Alkarba Air (still the current owners) on 4/12/2003 and started working for Iraqi Airways on the 15th of this current month.
It wasn’t one of the original Iraqi Airways 737 “Classics”, one of which was destroyed in a terrorist attack in Jordan in 1986.
I think – but don’t quote me – that one of the remaining B737s fled to Iran in 1991 and was “appropriated” for use by Iran Air.
