Why are the two BHX flights so close together, Future Pilot?

It seems Continental are good at picking their routes.

Indeed they are. As I mentioned earlier, they perform thorough market research and preparation before starting a new route and it certainly pays them dividends.

What a pity that BA don’t see fit to show the same kind of commitment to UK regional airports as Continental.

I was discussing the matter with rip concorde and Joe.

If it’s a private conversation you should be using PMs – if it’s on the Forum then it’s open house, I’m afraid.

Nice to see you back, Sandy. 🙂

Well, I can remember it being operated by Cubana IL62s for a while.

They also used to serve Manchester, as recently as 1998, but were replaced by AOM DC10s.

    Happy days. 😀

I wonder what impact, if any, the Festival has had on the loadings on EWR-EDI over the last couple of months?

In these uncertain times for the US airline industry, I would expect Continental to proceed with extreme caution. Maybe they’ll wait and see the figures over a slightly longer period before committing themselves to expansion on the basis of a few months’ traffic.

One assumes that they carefully analysed their market before launching the service in the first place. That’s been the basis of their success in serving the UK regions so far, after all.

It’s not to everyone’s taste, Matt.

Personally I think it looks great apart from that wierd “pizza” thing on the rear fuselage.

I much prefer the dark-grey and light-grey scheme with the Greek(?) warrior’s head on the tail.

    Like this.

    Thanks for the comments, chaps.

Terminal 2 and the nearby stands are always busy in the morning, Pablo, especially on a Sunday. Not quite so busy later in the day at present, but getting busier by the month, it seems. 😀
