In an ideal world maybe, but the low-life doing the smashing up are not always found, or don’t have the financial means to put right their damage.
So your answer is to arbitrarily deem someone else to be guilty of these crimes, and punish them instead.
Which makes no sense, and makes a mockery of the rule of law and due process.
The only reasonable course of action is to identify the guilty individuals, and bring them to justice – which is exactly what the authorities are doing.

I have to say that I struggle with this sort comment or “humour”.
It’s a hard old world, and no mistake.
I guess it’s funny as long as it isn’t in YOUR back yard eh?
You don’t know whose back yard it might be in though, do you?

In fairness, there does seem to have been a fair amount of “mission creep”.
Rights and wrongs notwithstanding, we seem to be moving away from establishing and policing a no-fly zone to protect threatened civilians into a situation of being an active belligerent in a civil war.
There seems to be a general assumption that the eventual winners will turn out to be to the West’s liking.
Let’s hope it isn’t another assumption that comes back to bite us.

Apologies for bringing back a half-dead thread that wasn’t much good when it was alive but I thought this was an appropriate place to post the following news.
Instead of bringing a five year old thread (riddled with trolling and flaming) back to life, you should have started a new one.
Rather like this one, in fact. 🙂

Well, that’s the latest batch of off-topic postings cleared up.
As pagen01 hinted above, this thread is for discussion of the air action over Libya.
There is a thread running in the General Discussion forum for discussion of the wider political and diplomatic issues.

GreyArea – Does this mean that all other threads pertaining to auctions on Edisposals website will be edited due to advertising? 😎
Just a thought old bean
The site owners’ Code of Conduct – including Item 3, I might add – will continue to be applied.

The thing is, despite Woodford having been an airfield and aircraft factory for decades, the surrounding area is Green Belt.
Just grab a big box of popcorn, and watch the NIMBYs eat themselves. 😀
