    Your missing the point.

Nevermind it is pointless to try and explain what is meant. Far too defensive already and it wouldnt do the memory of this pilot any good on here so will bow out from further discussion with you.

I have to say Stuart that not only the MOD would disagree most amateur enthusiast group would also.

I know most people respect these sites and I can only hope yourself included but it is comments and actions like those that you mention that have resulted in greater paperwork and laws for those who came to the hobby after.

    Stuart,

You thoughts are largely the same as mine however it seems it was the police or others that brought about the news reports.

And by the terms of an MOD licence you must report human remains should you find them. So if you or anyone else you knew kept quiet about finding human remains on a dig then that would be breaking the law.

BTW I am not accusing you of anything just pointing out what is listed in a licence and indeed the Protection Of Military Remains Act.

Either way not good publicity, sometimes makes you wonder whos watching the spoil when they find the propellor hub and blades from the deepest part of the site shown in the photo before a dig is stopped.

I would have thought that it was good publicity as the remains were found and reported through the correct authorities as far as I can see.

We all know the stories of bodies pushed back into the ground or just left in situ.

Just had a big bit on the STV news. Old film of Hurricanes in flight.

Local museum got in on the action too.

A wartime recovery does not necessarily mean that 100% of his body was recovered now does it? I would imagine they would recover what they could at the time and bury what the had to let the family grieve.

So many wreck recoveries in the past have been carried out and proved that not all of the pilot was buried at the time. Many unreported recoveries would also show the same details I would think.

What evidence do you have that it was the wrong aircraft apart from the pilots remains.

If you want exports then you’ll have to have good quality products from a well trained workfore, with access to funding for R&D and production, and a reduction as far as possible in the level of taxation and regulation on business.

Which is exactly my point. Something the goverment doesnt seem to care about anymore. No pride about the country anymore. Believe me I dont have the answers but I am damn sure I could do a lot better than some so called politicians.

Another thing is that we have got to be seen as meeting the stardards of the EU rules and regulations etc with fines if we dont meet the EU targets. While I am sure that its great in principle why have fines. Why not just pay that fine money into your own countries care system or education system?

You just have to wondered about our whole countries system. Was it better when things were much more simple?

I guess we may never know.

I really don’t get what some of you have said on here already. In this day and age there should be more centres and hospitals opening to care for the sick and elderly not less.

Have we seen the golden age of the NHS come and go or do we just need to find our forte in the export business so we can rise and become a great nation.

Soon we will have cutbacks to the cutbacks. Hang on come to think of it we already do have that.

Regarding this pilot Malcolm Eric Edward Roberston. Where would no. 4 EFTS have been. By this I mean which station and which country. And also the same question for 3 FTS.

I am doing a little research for a relative of this airman.

Can anyone confirm what Att Duston 1-4 August means.
I think it may mean Ouston which was the base where 243 sqn was based at the time. I could be wrong as why would he be attached to the station?

Any other help or information on this pilot would be helpful.

Any chance we could get a pic of the ends Ian.

If not can you describe what they are like. ie threaded or smooth etc.

Looks quite like a bit of hydraulics at the moment to my untrained eye.

I am always interested in all this stuff. One day this data might not be available.
