Sorry this post is a day late but I wasnt on the comp last night.
Anyway here is a couple of cockpit before and afters.
Number 1.
Pre-restoration.
bugger bugger bugger and double bugger.
If I had know that this was the same aircraft as I had pictures of I would have approached the pilot at East Fortune when I had a chance and could have got some great piccies. unfortunately this is the only one I have.
Does anyone that was at East Fortune on the year that the Pink was at the airshow have any better pictures than this one.
If so could you Private message me or email me so I can get a couple of copies.
And also does everyone agree that this was the actual aircraft at East Fortune.
Not often you miss an chance like that.
Oh well bugger once again.
Hi Mark 12,

A history if anyone knows please. I can update my details that way.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of 120hp to allow for the drag of the floats – and my Spit’s a bit over half-scale. 19ft to be exact….!
Only 2 questions for you DAZ
1 where do you fly it?
and
2 When can I see it?
I will post more tommorrow but for those of you who cant wait to see the restored article here she is in all her glory apart from the poor scan quality.
next photos will be the strip down and cockpit before and after.
Sorry aj,
Only the Spit I am afraid.
Fifth.

Hi Mark 12,
Thanks for that. I need a big boot up the Ar*se for that. I should have checked first before posting from my scribblings.
Please leave your post as it shows how big a mistake in records can be at times.
I will edit previous posts.
Fourth.
Third.
Second.
Well to answer your question about 1/2 scale spitfire engines it would have to be around a 150 to 200 cc engine based on a MK 1a Spitfire. Wing span is 36 feet half is 18 feet. A 1/4 scale Spit requires an engine of between 60 to 100 cc so double that and theres your answer. Have a look at model manufacturer Mick Reeves web site and look under Spitfires. All the info you need to work it out is there. http://www.mrmodels.fsnet.co.uk/
Personally for size and everything I would love the 1/4 scale Spit on that website.
Hi Guys now youve got me interested in this thread. An airfield just up the road from me flew JU52’s. Somewhat significant that the Lufthansa JU52 visited Edinburgh airport last year then.
The first british serial number mentioned gives the previous serial as SH16C on G-INFO. that one being AHOC.
All the details you can get now with it being a deregistered aircraft and the record being so old.
Guys
when we were at East Fortune for the PFA flyin we all had to wear high vis when we got a guided tour round airside and we all had to put our name address and sign to say we had read the airside rules and agreed to abide by the terms.
Thanks guy I can now explain better the situation to my club mate.
I thought that it was something like that and we had discussed this amongst the club several times but never knew the conclusive answer.
Any info on Coporal Evans himself.
Thanks Ian for what you have offered so far
Well Rob how do you feel about Gyroplanes in ww2.
I reckon that would make a good film.
