The only “antiques” were a selection of unnamed household items and furniture – possibly on offer from local junk shops for a few quid. And some places would pay you to take the pianos off their hands. Not sure how you justify your last comment, anyway.

Yes, that IS an interesting point. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can help.

Looking at the radar there is very little moving over the UK , even at high altitude, nothing over France except a knot around Paris, nothing over Demark or Spain, but intense activity over Portugal. It seem anomalous – can anyone shed any light?

I appreciate that – I was unsure how embedded you were there, but with that esxtended family you are well entrenched! But I can understand how far away Blighty must feel from time to time.

There’s one at Hawkinge, I seem to remember.

So, you are happy with your position – or should you be no 1?:) As an immigrant of how ever many years there, Steve, what are the three things you most DISLIKE about Oz?

Why do you say that, CD – out of interest? I have always believed that it was the shock wave caused by the explosion which caused the damage rather than the impact, which would produce a crater, depending on the force and the location.

The Jav looks great, Blue – well done. I’m waiting to hear if the Dakota has all its bits, for which I have offered Hindenburg cash. The B17 has already gone. I’m no great shakes as a modeller, but will share my efforts if it comes to it.

Give that bottle of milk a medal!

A good effort I thought; be interesting to see how the rest of the series pans out, as I don’t think that block of houses can take much more…..

I agree. But, like you, I wonder what will be left when they “drop” the V2. My guess is that some of the larger ordinance will be set-off some distance away to register longer distance shock-wave damage.

Any money on the milk bottle being there at the end??

This surprises me on two counts. That France, a country where I have lived and spent a great deal of time over the last 40 years in number 1 and that Denmark, where I have also spent a great of time in the last 30 years, is so far down the list.

The French position certainly does not reflect the discontent and frustration of the poorer areas where unemployment is very high, and has been for a long time. And, in my experience, Danes enjoy a perfect, what I think is now called “work/life balance”.

Yes, so you do – sorry about that. I think any U2s here pre-1962/3 would have been CIA because I don’t think they were taken on by SAC until then.

I think you are over-stating the case, but I am beginning to wonder about the government’s hand in this. As we all know there is almost nothing it will not involve itself in if it can gain from it, so during these election weeks one does have some suspicions.:(
