That just about sums up the BBC. They are unable to cut their cloth. They have the billions to make wonderful, well written, well acted, well designed drama but they waste resources on rubbish. They could do it if they changed their philosophy.

My comments were not meant to be as strong as that, so please accept my apologies. And I had misconstrued the intention of your post. Facts accepted and I will not dwell on it further.
I will watch the programme but I can appreciate that many people with close connections to the events would not wish to.

We will have to see but I understand that it is exactly that, the horror and devastation, which the programme is seaking to re-create. It might not, of course, succeed but they will be speaking to people who, like your mother, lived through it. And no one is suggesting that anyone person’s account is more or less valid than another’s.
