Has anyone heard anything about tests carried out by KLM and any other airlines that have flown test flights in the ‘danger zone’. BBC are reporting that no obvious damage was reported on any of the test flight conducted by European airlines.
Yes, and the situation is developing interestingly. Who will be the first to take the leap from the test flights to giving the go-ahead to full passenger flights?
Gosh Al, we do seem to have got your dander up!;) Take it easy…..as I said in a reply to another post I number many Scots amongst friends, after decades of visiting Scotland. None of these friends share your nationalist sentiments. I love my visits there, but I abhor nationalism of any sort and your reaction to my and others comments exemplifies my point. Much as you might wish it Scotland is not a nation or a separate country, but an integral part of the United Kingdom.

Thank you, I’m trying to make amends!
You are succeeding and welcome because of it. We have the occasional spat but this forum is generally non-confrontational and friendly, or so I have found it in my short time here, which is why I enjoy it.:)
Who are you, and what have you done with the real EGPH? 😉
Or is this the new, refreshed, turned-over-a-new-leaf EGPH? If so, welcome!:)
Yes, without any doubt. But that does not take away the necessity for factual reporting without speculation as to the cause. The BBC has a great responsibility in this respect and is often found wanting.
Hah! Now is the time for the little green men to invade – we’ve no aerial defence. They probably set the volcano off, too.:diablo:

Depends for how long, doesn’t it? When our supplies of imported vegetables and fruit dry up, much of which comes by air. When supplies of imported medicines are squeezed as they are carried by air, in fact when every item we export and import, which is currently transported by air, ceases to be available or has its transportation time lengthened, then we will all eventually feel the knock-on effects. Not only the future of some airlines but many other businesses will be at risk.
I think “Cleggy” will be found out in the next week or so and the Liberals will end up being back where they belong!:diablo:

I think that consideration may have to be given to finding an unconventional approach to tackling the problem. The scientists are beginning to talk about the probability of the eruption continuing for some time to come and the high wind prognosis is for little change for another week at least, as I understand it.
In these circumstances what has been to date an inconvenience for some will become a serious problem for many. We will begin to remember that we are an island once more and the blinkered anti-flying green eco-wotsits will realise just how crucial air transport and air travel is.
Over the last 40 years I have spent many very happy days and weeks in Scotland and number many Scots amongst my friends – none of whom has any time at all for “Scottishness”. Interesting.:D

If it’s any help I know your colour and I know you are one of two…..;)
