It’s the same owners and cook at the Ickleton and the John Barleycorn, but I agree the food does vary. We are trying to find new pubs round here so we shall try your list 🙂 Tonight

Yes we all wear them at Duxford it is the only safe thing to do, apart from anything else you can pick out people you dont want to hit in a plane.

Light blue overalls are usually ARCo but they are usually wearing one. TFC as always are the good boys. Not a speck of paint stripper on those shiny halos above them.

Think you will find the Ickleton Lion was the pub frequented by Mr Bader at that time although I agree the John Barleycorn’s is very good.

There was a rumour many years ago that the Hanna’s wanted to rebuild the hanagar on that site, but the price was so ridiculous, it could have never been done.

It’s only a Harvester, but fine for a bite of lunch. On the A1 between Hendon before you hit the M25 junction.

Nice pub down the road. I worked there 4 years ago and it has not got any better and it won’t for all the noise you make.

Hendon is very different to Duxford, that is why I work at Duxford now. Fred and Harolds Naafi is the place to go if you want a nice food at good prices at a museum.

I have been away for four days and arguements have set in:)

The Shackleton has being going down hill for a few years, and as has been pointed out, the exterior looks worse for wear. However the aircarft has been given a reprive after several memebers of the DAS set out to clean up and start to restore the interior. This is only a small step but it takes many of those to complete the job. It will take a while. but at least this small group has saved the Shackleton and I am sure in time the exterior will be seen to. Lets face it we have seen aircraft in worse condition return to fly.

Lets thank these chaps for there hard work.

Have to be more subtle with hints to my girlfriend then, don’t think the box under the tree has one packed up inside.
