The flaming is a very important part of a healty forum…you should understand it origins, and its effects..
For example…a rather boring thread, can be successfully turned into a very funny topic to read…like starting with boring produccion failures..and ending with Mr. Obama or immigrants 🙂
Or a stucked aviation thread can get some spicy flavor with gas prices, and cultural economic differences….
And yeahhh…and all these wall-texts arround….such nice decorative details
I mean…..if this forum turn just only about nice pics threads, the forum itslef would become uber-boring
Is OK that some post would be deleted after the initial joy to read it (because after read it 2-3 more times is not funny anymore)…but i still have not found any member that deserve to be banned, there are not “ur a pig commie/capitalist”, or nasty/bad words, so i think there is too much whining about…sorry guys, nothing personal.
You guys are going too far inside the …”uncertainly lands” 😉
More less like the LCA/Tejas radar/weight disscussions or the f-22 electronics stuff, one can discuss with some safety degree about power systems (radar basic concepts , EM concepts, etc), but when you go in to the ECM, procesing stuff, and fancy systems descriptions (XYZ-123, etc…) is really hard to say “im right!” even if you have the basic performance parameters…
Also…we already have 2 walltext warriors here….(garry and star -that actually ..should get a rest-)…i think we dont need more..
And with out news….the thread remains alive…
Thanks hyperwarp for these links.
Interesting, the first link of the model “611” (that seems is a wind tunnel test model) has it canards aligned with the main wing, any better picture with the whole body?
Any figures about the weight of the projected plane?
China is testing TVCs?, never have seen a picture about it
I think that concept was under evaluation, and maybe it was rejected, so both RCS testing and artist concept are related, but that doesnt mean is the PAKFA
Im sure if that would be the Pakfa, there shouldb be a scandal, because supossely is secret, but sukhoi maybe released these drawings to say “hey look at me! we are working on it!”
Anyway, in think the real plane will not be too far from these concepts
Seems Chengdu has won over Shenyang for the concept of the j-xx, the link shows both configurations
http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/fighter/jxx.asp
At last! a canard-delta configuration!, seems it will be an interesting project, sadly the lockheed JSF didnt go far with their canard delta, because mechanical/aerodynamic balance problems with the VTOL fan, but seems China will pick that configuration
SOC, if you can upgrade your equipment capacities, you do it.
Now..lets see how the project is implemented
You certainly couldn’t debate them though it seems…
Radars can beat stealth tech?, yes they can
Thet can do it cost/effectively? yes they can
I have posted my arguments , go and review them
Now, if you want to me to post about diplomacy, economy and a bunch of crap that have nothing to do with the debate?, sorry but i just cant debate them
Kill him at his base to be sure about that, whatever is at hand about that.
Bait him into a trap, but that does work once only.
Counter-attack something important to built a deterrence by that.
Look for a diplomatic solution seems to be the best solution for all.
If you have such an equiped military you are probably an economic force therefore integrated into the world economic web , so the best way to stay strong and healthy (Economically) is to avoid war .
Im impressed by such deep, interesting technical arguments, no way these can be debated
I really dont get, some arguments here are very subjetive, like if the radar operator will have a bad day because he cant get a precise enough info…
http://www.army-technology.com/projects/arrow2/
The dual mode missile seeker has a passive infrared seeker for the acquisition and tracking of tactical ballistic missiles and an active radar seeker used to home on air breathing targets at low altitudes
Again an example of active seekers and low GHz radars (less than 1 GHz, for the elta Green), although, a high frecuency radar should be needed IMO for the Elta -to use cheaper missiles-
The GCI will miss vital data, f.e. about height and angle
What are you saying ?, that low frecuency radars cant give u that data with precision? you are very wrong about that
Maybe the physicians will find a new technology sensor
What are you saying?, Radar cant do the job?, again wrong…
I really dont know about the link capacities for missiles/fighters/radars , but i dont think is technical impossilbe to link the info from -for example- an AWACS or ground radar with the missile, and i dont think a SARH missile cant pick a stealthy plane at shorther ranges than 10kms with the wattage and frecuency of a conventional fighter radar at normal fire ranges
Fire control-radar are of short-wave length. You can live through the frustrations, when the operators can monitor such aircraft approaching with their longer-wave surveillance radar
There are tactics and tactics -now with out active homing-, pick the target, point the tracking radar there, launch the missile, wait until the missile get the signal, target done..i mean, isnt as hard or impossible as many ppl think, stealth technology does’nt mean that the tracking radar has become obsolete, only means that the whole system need a better integration
Now, nobody denie that against fighter radars is effective
The best thing such defenders are can hope for is, that enough time was left to do all tricks for own survival at best
Funny, because what you name “tricks” are actually tactics, isnt like the commander-operators pick a target and then they push a red button, they chose how to engage the target, if they do with IR / radar active homming, SARH, manual, etc..
Active homming is the key, really that was something that came on my mind a lot while ago, funny was that later i found that the serbian 117 was down by that concept, and later i found a VHF-AESA russian radar that use pretty same concept.
Im sure the tactitians knew that far earlier than me, really isnt about supercomputers or more procesing power, is just knowledge and common sense
Even at X band i think all the stealth stuff is grossly overrated ,but effective for full long range x-band based radars (althought, not as sometimes is claimed)
This thread should be moved to another place…no offense guys, but despite is about the military aviation thread, i think it dont belong here…it also looks horribly on the forum
Nice, the thread is cleaned and open, thxs guys
The main problem I can see with the R179-300 is that it seems to be only made in MotorSich in the Ukraine…
But wouldnt be a good idea to integrate Ukraine to the Pakfa?, really now that you have said that, i see brazil/india interest on the plane, but what about the other ex-soviet countries?, what about Poland and other states?, i know the US is arround…but the integration and participation wouldnt ensure a better market?
About Ukraine, well seems they have keeping the research on that engine, and now lyulka is researching (or finish) the al-41. Now, an agreement of r-179’sed pakfas for kiev would’nt help the project?
I know, politics arent my field, but the r179 seems to be too good to be overlooked
BTW Yak is on the pakfa?
Well, in this case the goal should’nt better agility, but shorter take off, one problem of the deltas is their CoL are moved backwards respective with the CoG, so that induce a “nose down” movement, so on conventional deltas you are “wasting” lift
Well, yes i understand, the aspect of a wing plays a lot on the low speed regime, but unstable designs gave the EF, M2000 and other 4th generation planes a decent performance at low speeds, keeping the delta -althought is also due the better T/W-, so it has been done? , any try? any project?
What im saying is something like, ok…we have the mig-23 (tu-160/b-1), lets replace with the mirage 2000 (unstable concord or tu-144)
Interesting..the last NASA model -2707-300 seems to avoid a large delta to avoid a backwarded lift centre, any of these designs were unstable?
