Me too – I walked into the lounge at my mother’s care home,where the poor old souls who aren’t too far gone get parked in front of the TV,just in time to catch the magic word ” Sunderland ” and register what programme was on.

Watching the north-east news on TV,and seeing two blokes who took part in yesterday’s Great North Run.

One of them ran the thirteen miles with a small fridge strapped to his back.

The other one did the same,but pushing someone in a wheelchair as well.

As I understand it,it’s not acceptable for a Roman Catholic to become Prime Minister.

The reason is.the sovereign appoints leading members of the Church of England,following advice from the Prime Minister.Such advice could not be given by a person who was not a member of the church.
