    Oi ! My daughter reads maps perfectly AND she parked in only 27 manoeuvres yesterday. How come all of a sudden Nessie’s female ?

    Mr. Bee splashed out on an anniversary dinner,but thrifty as ever when it comes to parking,didn’t pay and display.When we left the restaurant he’d got a £50 ticket.That made me smile but the old skinflint was almost in tears .

    The piece about it in today’s paper says he suffers from vertigo,so I hope he didn’t look down when he was standing on top of the world !

    38th wedding anniversary today,but it wasn’t that that made me swear ( well,maybe just a little bit ).It was finding myself in tears remembering that I’d spent the thirteenth anniversary in hospital after miscarrying a much-wanted baby on this very date,and it still hurts 25 years later.Life is such a ridiculous mixture of the tragic and the comic it’s enough to make anyone swear,isn’t it .

    It was featured on the BBC’s morning programme while I was having my motel breakfast.As you say,an old-fashioned British hero,and so modest .
