    RE: easyjet select A319!

I thought they might go with Airbus, just a hunch I guess.

Boeing dominated for decades and I firmly believe that competition is a plus. Also, Boeing has Ryan Air and Southwest, so they still have a firm grasp on the low frills market.

Question: does the A319 have air stairs? Curious.

It’s great! Very clean and modern, though they could maybe place a small tribute to “the rising sun” next to the title.

although maybe not the most beautiful, I do like the modern look of Toronto’s tower.

Air BC was part of the former Air Canada Connector, as well as several other airlines. They were all absorbed into Jazz. Jazz is effectively the regional arm of Air Canada.

Air Canada Jetz is for corporate clients. Aircraft and service that sports teams and the like can rent.

Tango is Air Canada’s low cost coast to coast domestic service to compete with Air Transat and the now history, Canada 3000.

Zip is the low frills carrier to compete with Westjet in western Canada, though Air Canada won’t admit this. It is rumoured that if successful, Air Canada may want to impliment this system on its entire domestic network to save money. There are labour issues though.

You can easily see there domination of the domestic market in Canada.

    Hope that helps.

That last Air India photo is great.

Why does Air Jamaica place the flag on the engine. I find their design a bit too busy. Was the enging thing a temporary motif?

I agree with you completely re: zip. There are four colors in all, I don’t know what they were thinking at AC.

RE: Japan Airlines orders two 747s, moves up 777 order

JAL has been hurting financially for quite some time now, perhaps this is one reason their fleet renewal is slow out of the gate. Also, I read some time ago that their hands are tied with very heavy labour costs that the airline can’t seem to get around.

Japan, though still quite powerful next to many countries, is nowhere near the economic strength that it once was. Hopefully the economy will turn around in the near future. This has to be another reason the airline finds itself struggling next to some of the other carriers in Asia.

    Thanks for the information Kabir.
