“great” being used in the sense of “large”, not “really good” or something 😉
hopefully even airport security will notice the tracked vehicles, associated radars of an SA-11 battery…
R-23 also had proximity fuze but you had to switch it manually prior to launch. The same about early R-27s. It is nothing that cannot be done (in BVR you got the time to do it) but you definitely need some experience to adjust it properly
AFAIK the R-27 has a switch to optimise the fusing based on aspect of the engagement (headon/tailon).
Is it USB- blowing over the wings?
Difficult to see.
Italian:
Well, what you need is to outsource production of the F-22 to China… that way they’d come in way cheaper!
Hell, if they need money the USAF should sell one on Ebay- I’m sure the Chinese and Russians would stump up plenty of cash 😉
Yes, but the cost of development is largely fixed, and already spent. What I’d be interested in is how much *more* 750 F-22s would cost than 200, and how that compares to designing and building the F-35.
You’d have to ask the makers why its “smart”. Looks like a fairly standard collimator HUD, not wide angle or anything.
And the less you buy, the higher the unit price goes up…
Yes, but in order to fit them to Pakistani J-7s the Chinese must have had the chance to become fully familar with them, as it were.
😉

The Mk 10L is currently fully qualified and approved for installation in the following aircraft:-
Aeritalia AMX, IAI Lavi, Aermacchi 339, IAR Jurom, AMD Mirage, IAR 99, BAe Hawk, Nanchang A5, BAe EAP, Nanchang K8/L8, CASA C101, Nanchang F5, Chengdu F7, Saab JAS39, Embraer/Shorts Tucano, SIAI Marchetti S211, Eurofighter EFA, Sikorsky X-Wing, Gulfstream Perigrine, Soko Super Galeb
lotta Chinese aircraft there..
Smart HUD:
Despite its metric wavelength, the achieved resolution is high, reportedly 400 m in distance and 0.4 degress in azimuth.
Well thats a lot better than the MiG-29 radar can manage, so I’d say it would suffice for a BVR shot 😉
No, the T-10 looks nice enough it just flies like a pig.
Its got to be something oddball- maybe the Mikoyan 105, Il-102, M-17…
