That gunsight in the Fouga looks remarkedly like a British Mk 14 gunsight.

Very pretty plane. Be nice to see the instrument panel.

    Bri:)

Fouga has a French licence built GGS MKIV E gunsight, so yes, British 😉 I’m looking for one!

I know you’re very busy, but any chance for an update on the Seahawk? What’s the plan with the grumman? Is it in taxi condition?

Shame the Vormezeele collection is closed for the public. Would LOVE to visit and see the collection 🙁 . I’ve only seen his Harvard and Skyraider on airshows.

This vandalism might be a good thing afterall if the aircraft get repainted. Some were starting to look a bit faded.

Can you translate the captions Cees ?

    .

Typhoon flown by Australian Thomas Coburn. Shot down on Sept 8, 1944. It took months to find his body in Waarschoot. He is now buried in “Schoonselhof” near Antwerp. The engine from the Typhoon was taken by a local blacksmith after the crash. The current owned agreed to donate it to the BAHAAT museum. During the last 60 years, the whole engine had been taken apart. It will be restored by 2008.

Such a shame. Unfortunatly I see the same happen to Sally B and many other warbirds in the future 🙁 It’s time for the EU to change that stupid regulation. Can’t we open a petition or something?

yip, pass it every week. Not very intact I’m affraid. Totally empty inside. Struck of charge when it had an oxygen fire. canopy frame laying besides it (without plexi). Wings were cut so they could be folded as a travelling exhibit. Now the wings are barely hanging on with steel wire. Good for a cockpit shell, but otherwise scrap I think. Some pictures here:

Looks the real deal for my Rapide-untrained eye 😀 . Why not put it among the jetstream club collection or on a pole or something so it is safe from vandalism?
