My problem would not be with the Lanc not appearing at a particular show-I mean my God, I’ve gone hundreds of miles just to see it in the past-but rather with the Dak ‘replacing’ it. BUT, we’ve not long ago had this argument, so moving on swiftly… 😉

My first show, as far as I remember, was at Culdrose in Cornwall while on holiday in the early 80’s-a Beaver (I think) crashed, killing the pilot. Bad way to start!

I don’t really understand Midway’s problem with there having been a fitter on board the aircraft during it’s routine-the BBMF Lanc usually has 9 people on board, only 4 of whom are flight crew. Is this wrong?

Awful news-and yet as I logged online just now, I had an awful feeling that I was going to see something about a crash at Legends.

Sad day. No doubt the ‘informed’ media will now be calling for these ‘vintage death traps’ to all be grounded again. 🙁

Very good! Thing is though, it could-and ideally, should-be true! In my opinion she could well do with coming off display-where she’s been for thirty years now you’ll remember-for a decent tidy up and repaint, rather than the awful patchy satin/matt they’re leaving her in now.
