I’ve had several people remark on my Vulcan polo short now while I’ve been out and about, people who knew it was being restored and who loved seeing it in the past, but worryingly, none of them knew it had now flown!?
Great picture of ‘558 passing ‘607…which despite living outdoors, appears there at least to have the better condition paint job?!
No joke, just what I’ve read elsewhere.
‘558 went u/s after start up today at Waddo, I’m reading.
No, I more meant a simple who’s idea was it, who-approached-who kind of thing.
Would be interesting to hear about the planning of the Lanc & Vulcan flypast, as it was presumably a rather last minute thing?
From You Tube-
Beautiful photos of a very welcome visitor, nice ones chaps!
Beautiful photos, Brian!
Considering that it is just a one off permission to fly, I do think the title of this thread needs changing.
Brian
Agreed- rather misleading as it stands!
Mod!?
Great stuff- but does it fly straight now?! 😀
Your points about relative value for money is absolutely right- however, it’s just not always possible for everyone to blindly commit to attending an event way in advance, for any number of personal reasons.
Was debating re-entering RIAT waters myself after years away, but at £45 each for two of us, before travel, food and spending costs, they can go and swing for it- the Vulcan would have to come and pick me up here for that!
Ah, well Kemble is nearer here still (as the crow flies, anyway) so that defo must’ve been it, then. Certainly sounded like it, and looked like it in the brief glimpse I saw out my window here.
Could have sworn I saw the Dakota fly over here (Newport, South Wales) yesterday- on it’s way down from the Severn Valley then I assume?
Ah, I remember the days when the Lanc used to fly around over here…(big country house by here which I assume was used as a waypoint) haven’t seen it overhead here in years- last time was as it came out of St Athan with it’s new wing spar!
