As we approach the 10th anniversary of the UK gaining the first supersonic land speed record, it’s a shame that we’ll never know now if Fossett could achieve the 800mph he was aiming for. 🙁
Mike, if you put your views into a letter to Michael Fopp at Hendon they’ll have a greater impact. Hendon has been a decline of a thousand cuts but if people don’t take the trouble to write to the museum’s management the official view will be that the lack of opposition means that people passively accept this decline and restriction of access.
Agreed entirely, though sadly I’ve found in the past that expressing any views to Hendon is a bit like peeing into wind!
I was there last week – Bomber Hall was shut because there was a function on and the hanger was full of tables and chairs; and the Sunderland wasn’t open for walkthroughs as there weren’t enough staff – some internal shots would therefore be nice! Ta
