Oh dear, yet ANOTHER Shuttleworth display cursed with dreadful weather, it must be 2 years since they had a stable, hot, summers day.
Still, there might be some dramatic photos with very dynamic cloudscapes !
Its at White Waltham right now, departing 16.00 or so.
Bader fans look away now !
Daily Mail puts the boot in!
” Bader sought out risk as if addicted to it. He was self-centred, trying to force his way on to escape plans even though a man with tin legs could not get through a tunnel or over rooftops without jeopardising others. When he was turned down, he told the escape committee with breathtaking arrogance: ‘The government at home would rather have me back than all the rest of you put together.’ ”
Is there something odd about that bottom photo- has a different head been pasted on ?
He looks like one of the Thunderbirds large-headed cousins..
A really striking memorial, I do so hope that it is never targeted by ‘individuals’ who see its value as something other than historic.
As I drove to Flying Legends a month ago, I was struck by sheer the density of aerodromes as one edges into East Anglia. Steeple Morden, then after a few miles, Bassingbourn, then Fowlmere, then Duxford. I think if you are tuned in to it, they all have a brooding, simmering, atmosphere, quite peaceful, but still compelling,

Bet they weren’t really.
Could go for a lot more.
On the other hand, it might not [/url]
Truly, the mark of an expert :diablo:
I would not bother about asking permission.
If the photo was taken in a public place, with public access, there really is no issue. People with a secrecy agenda are quick enough to chase away unwanted attention and prevent pictures being taken.
Does this not qualify for the Historic board ? I don’t think there are many aircraft older than this ( even if it is a replica )
The report says they went up to 4-5,000 feet :eek:
A Chipmunk N22DH recently had a major mishap in the USA. Was WZ859 in RAF service.

I love ALL my magazines, all 3,000 of them, but it is going to take a hell of a wet weekend before I sit down and re-read them. 😉
‘Once more unto the breach dear friends”
Denham now, threatened with bisection by the proposed by the £30 Billion ( yes !) hyper-space railway folly, otherwise known as HS2 :mad::mad:
You are a true friend that never let me down,
You’re lucky.
My uncle was best mates with HMS Glorious, and he ended up being badly let down. It all ended swimmingly.
You can have my copy, if you wish.
Blame squarely placed on the pilots ( so no risk of contageon to the senior ranks).
Don’t often see that. Oh hang on, yes we do.
At least the Chinook crew had some justice, but it took 20 years.
