it is fair comparison because silent eagle is stealth lo version of f15 and pakfa is stealth lo variant of flanker.
they keep the same shape and many parts, but then add internal bay, some angles on the body, better avionic, same family of engine but improved version.
but difference is boieng likely can make machinery to mass produce silent eagle faster. for russia it is still learning steps.

Uh, I’m pretty sure I also mentioned that the Chinese populace may have their resolve weakened if a conflict prolonged into a case where chinese cities came under attack if the US intervened…

And in a short conflict (which was the backdrop of the discussion before), yes chances are it would be Taiwan bearing the brunt of the fighting, despite whatever LACMs or fifth column movements they may be able to launch at the mainland.

My point was to serve the social reality that the vast majority of chinese people see taiwanese independence as a do or die issue, and my question was how much they were willing to gamble in the first place, as we move forwards with greater economic integration.

i agree, every man boy woman in china have strong pride. i know our government is not best some time, we have many corrupt issues.
but that do not change love for the homeland. we will all fight and will die to protect it!
if us try to challenge it, we will blow guam up.

Exactly. The redesigned production J-10A is so ugly that it was not until J-10B that J-10 is at last pleasing to the eye. :eagerness:

This is what J-10A would have been had the right sized engine been available.

J-10B cockpit (top) is shown below compared to the less advanced F-16I Sufa cockpit (middle) and JF-17 cockpit (bottom).

    you are not chinese.
every china aviation person who follow, know that j10 come from j9. lavi is so small and the wing is very different. not the same airplane at all!

The F-15SE does not reduce the need for another jet. The F-15SE replaces older aircrafts in the ROKAF. A 5th gen aircraft (KF_X) will replace other fighters, presumably the F-16’s. The entire acquisition program is up in the air given the ROKAF’s wish to get 5th gen fighters from the FX Phase III and Lockheed’s inability to provide them within what the Koreans are willing to pay. From what has been reported, ROKAF wanted to go for STEALTH in phase III of the program. Having done well to prepare themselves to dominate NOKO with the Phase I and II (F-15 K’s) they were looking at 5th gen technology to counter efforts to acquire such tech in their immediate neighborhood (Japan, Chine etc). The Price of course does not allow them to do this so it seems (unless something drastic happens) they will go for an incremental F-15SE (compared to their baseline F-15K) and perhaps one day look to bring their F-15K fleet closer to the F-15SE in standard (Radar commonality, Weapon Pods etc)… KF_X would be interesting. They would have to see whether funding something from scratch brings them more utility/benefit than acquiring the F-35 or other future projects (Such as the SAAB) which would be offset by workshare to local aerospace industry. It all depends what the cost projections are with a home grown figther.

i agree w u. korea will just have to stuck with the f15. i know they want to try match japan and china but they can never do that. too small a country.

An interesting IR view of F-22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58N6Plr17GU

J-10B has a huge IRST, bigger than that on F-16E Block 60. Should be able to pick up an F-22’s IR. Note that IR radiation is heat transforming into radiation, not electro magnetic radiation such as light and radio waves reflecting off F-22 which is how eyes and radars can see F-22.

it is not fair to compair aesa f16 and j10b. j10b is at least 10 year newer. of course it will be better.

The Koreans will get assistance and design work according to what they want. The T-50/FA-50 is not a F-35 or a F-16 Block 60 in expense..They asked for a particular capability and got assistance accordingly. Lockheed or Boeing will not consult or assist in a small Light weight stealth fighter program and offer designs that are expensive, size and shape of the f22 etc. This is ridiculous. Its akin of suggesting that if ROKAF asked for SAAB’s help for a mid range tactical bomber, SAAB will give them a gripen. From what i make of things, ROKAF and the South Koreans are wanting to go alone on tis with very little assistance.

korean politican and peopl ehave too m uch pride and nationalism that is why they want their own stealth fighter and trying to do it alone, but reality is they cannot.

actually it is better for indoniesia to give up maritime issue with china (their issue is really small compare to other country) and work together military. j31 could fit very well for them and they can replace old f16,f5 and flanker with it.
some chinese may against this because they hate indoneisia for massacer and genocide on chinese people but i am willing to move forward. it is not the same country in the past.

If we are actually going to humour this, I think there is a chance that any naval T-50, J-20 could conceivably perform better than F-35C, especially considering F-35Cs relatively smaller airframe, limiting payload and range etc.
But I suspect F-35C will definitely be the most mass produced 5th generation carrier borne fighter, which no naval J-21, J-20 or PAK FA will be able to fully match in terms of numbers.

there is no navy pakfa. you cannot make it because there is no room for hook on the pakfa. if you want a hook then you have to get rid of back bay.
maybe chance j20 can be made navy carrier but its really design for land use. j31 is pure navy.
