When you go to the Florida Air Museum, ask if its all right to look in the adjacent Weeks hangar as this is where the overspill from the Fantasy of Flight Museum is housed.
When I went last year, the Hangar contained;
Grumman Duck
P 63
P51 D
Tempest II
Bob Hoovers Shrike.
Beech 18
Grumman Widgeon
Also at Kissimee is the FW 190 rebuild, the guys at Flying Tigers should be able to steer you in the right direction.
I’ve attached a few Florida pics to wet your apetite.

Thanks for all the kind comments, After being boiled by the sun yesterday I was going to give the show a miss today. But then I thought what the hell, there might not be another show at Chailey!
What a superb show and excellent venue, roll on the next Chailey display.

The highlight of the whole weekend was Ray Hanna Sunday display, absolutely stunning. What are we going to do when he finally retires.

Seems very strange that the Catalina is not on the list.
Has it displayed at Duxford since it arrived in the UK?

I saw them in their cocooned state, either in Cowes or Southampton Water in the very early sixties. IIRC, they were all broken up only a year or two later.
Is this how you remember them dhfan.
A very sad sight.

Thanks everyone,
I tried my old converter at Farnborough, where you need the extra reach but it was very difficult to manual focus such a heavy lens at speed.
In the end I gave up.
Thanks for saving me from another unwanted peice of kit.

I took this with the converter, a bit too grainy for my taste.
Nice L-39 behind the Sea Fury in the shot with the wings folding 🙂
Would that be the L-39 owned by a certain forum member!!

[QUOTE=proplover]Largest recent formation was Duxford Sept 2000, 21 Spits on the Sat – Dutch Spit arrived late and missed the (extensive) briefing so wasn’t allowed up and on Sun it was 21 as now the Dutch Spit was allowed up but one of the BBMF pilots was “unwell” so didnt fly. (BBMF had all 5 Spits at the event)
By some strange coincidence Discovery Wings showed this display last weekend.
No them it will be repeated shortly.

Just cast my votes.
what a shame that the last remaining Bawdsy mast was lost only three or so years ago.
Out of interest, do any of the original masts survive.

Superb, Thanks for posting F6F,
I must make the effort to get to Old Rheinbeck, especially now the flights are so cheap to the US.
Is the collection Ok now as I had heard they were having a few problems.
