    I remember seeing Javelin XA801 being broken up for scrap at Hanningfield Metals yard in Essex as recently as 1994! Does anyone know if the cockpit survived.

    For all Shepherd Neame followers, here’s one of their earlier ads. There was also a Hurricane Ale but I cant remember the brewery. Although I can’t stand the stuff, I used to love the old Carling dambuster ad.

    Does anyone remember an Ultravox video that featured Spitfires, it would have been the early 80’s.

    I saw the Floyd at Wembley in about 86, no Spitfires but plenty of Pig!

    Also saw Dave Gilmour queing fo a burger at at a display at Rendcombe, I unfortunately had one of those “I’m not worthy moments” and made a right hash of asking for his autograph!

    Love the Avtar by the way.

    I can confirm it was 1995, as it was the year I got married, the only Legends show I have missed!

    The Ray Hanna/ Stephen Grey routine is also avaliable on the video @Flying Machines monthly vol 2 1995. I have seen these old tapes on sale at Duxford shows @ very cheap prices.

    I can’t honestlty remember seeing you take this pic, must have had a face full of doughnut at the time.

    I’ve got a feeling it was the 1986 Cranfield show, and the Spit in question MH434. Do you actually know which Spit it is JDK.
