This colour shot of the Tomtit may give some indication of the Hurricane’s clour scheme, although the colour reproduction may not be totally acurate.

This is from the Ken Ellis ‘Wrecks & Relics’ The Album

The photo is not credited so I guess its one from his collection.

    Re: Blue Hurricane!

For some reason i have it in my head that a Dark ‘navy’ blue was used however i can’t prove this:rolleyes:

If anyone has any pics or references to G-AMAU i would be extremely greatful

    Help!!!!!!!! [/B][/QUOTE]

The aircraft appeared in two differing blues,

As race number 41 it flew in a mid blue and gold scheme.( Late 40’s)

As race number 76 it flew in a dark blue and white scheme, both schemes had gold spinners. (1950’s)

I will try to find a colour shot, although that might prove difficult.

Sorry to bring this up again but I have tried everything to resolve this with no success.

I have uninstalled Photo shop and Re installed.

Cleared hard drive of all non essential files.

    Defraged Hard drive

    Run Scan disk

    Checked all connections

    Contacted my ISP (NTL)

    Upgraded to Outlook Express 6

But I still cannot load a picture without it breaking up.

Any suggestions will be gratefully aprieciated.

G AWAP was also the camera helicopter for the Battle of Britain film.

A Hawker Hart was used as a test bed in early 1935. At this time the Merlin was still known as the PV 12.

But does the R Engine count that was used in the S6B.

Does anyone know where the CASA 2111 from Aces High is currently being stored, in theory this aircraft originally went to Great Massingham, in Norfolk.

John Crewdson was the helicopter pilot on the film ‘4 D Special Agents’ made in 1981 his last recorded film work.

I tried with no success to trace Crewdson whilst researching an article on the film The War Lover.

A pilot of remarkable skill, his ability has long been under appreciated.

    Thanks Hairyplane,

I tried contacting Clive direct, the fact that he now lives in spain explains why I was unsuccessful!

After all the blood sweat and tears Clive put into the project, how could anyone cut through the wing spars!

I’ve always considered him a Tempest Pilot, but I guess he started somewhere.

Pierre Closterman flew various marks of Spitfires before getting the Tempest V.

From memory he had around 33 confirmed kills.

During the recent BBC programme on the Guinea Pig club, there was a shot of the long gone Classic Cinema in East Grinstead. That weeks film the Battle of Britain.

The cinema frontage was totally decked out with large bill boards and models. I will try to post a photo taken from the TV, but the quality may be too poor.
