It’s incredible the amount of reading problems the members of this forum have. The samples on the website are PDF – the book is – gasp – a book!
I would have hoped for better from a man of Kent. Or Kentish man.
What are you talking about? The man wants the book and as he is peripatetic in the USAF there is no point in him ordering it. And quite what being from Kent has to do with it I have no idea…..
Did you never see it? A good series, especially if you like aviation, in any form.
“BBC at its best, this is what I pay my licence fee for”
I agree 100% – if only they did it rather more often, then I’d feel I was getting value for money!!:(
Well……possibly, but perhaps not quite what the OP had in mind!!:D
Nostalgia is a yearning to have now, something from the past. If that’s PeeDee’s way of achieving it then fair enough! You and I have longer memories of the old money than he does, but it has certainly faded from my memory and I don’t think I could mange to convert the cost of something today to discover that in old money it would be £3.3/9d!! But, as I said, he has my admiration.

You are certainly right about cast releases being required but if the crew were BBC staff employees then it would not apply. I am less confident that it would automatically exist in the archives, because the BBC has wiped hundreds of hours of recorded tapes, particularly if there is little or no prospect of their re-release. The best chance of finding something is on YouTube, or perhaps one of the websites devoted to finding and catatoguing old programmes.
Thanks, Blue – I’ve saved it!!:D
It might have disappeared for ever. There was only ever one series of 13 episodes and you might remember that the lead character’s name was Tony Blair!!!
Lovely photos as ever, Anna. Thanks. I aa sucker for the Provost, Chippie and the Tomtit looking resplendent….:)
I admire you for still bothering to convert back to old money after 40 years!!;) What on earth for??

Very good programme indeed. Thoroughly enjoyed it – very informative and with a minimum of dramatisation which plagues so many modern documentaries.
Yes, EARNED is the wrong wordl, “Gets” is more appropriate.

The FA and Sky between them are making monkeys out of every soccer supporter, aren’t they? I would have more respect for the fans if they used their muscle to pressure clubs to reduce the number of foreign players and to cap players salaries and the ludicrous amounts for transfer. But it is a game for obsessives who couldn’t really care less as long as “their team” wins. And then they wonder why their national team rarely wins anything.
