I have no further details to respond to the points you have made although it would appear that BA are supporting the enterprise.

British Airways are very supportive of Club Concorde’s Proposal to relocate Concorde Alpha Bravo, G-BOAB, from Heathrow Airport to a purpose built display site, near the London Eye.

The new site, which is subject to planning permission, will consist of a display platform supported by piles driven into the Thames riverbed, next to the London Eye and in front of County Hall.

We have been in discussions with various interested parties on the platform design, and we have been advised to include our own riverboat landing stage, plus two piers, which will alleviate the congestion on this stretch of the River Thames .

Apart from Concorde herself, we plan to incorporate Concorde related facilities in the vicinity of the platform and inside County Hall. These facilities will include a restaurant serving Concorde cuisine, memorabilia shops, artefacts displays plus Concorde aircrew presentation areas.

We also plan to include an area devoted to a “Best of British” exhibition, displaying vintage cars and motorcycles from museums and collectors around the UK. Part of this exhibition will be devoted to Formula One exhibits and racing cars from previous decades, as our project has been supported by several leading individuals in the Formula One fraternity.

We also have the support of twelve senior Concorde Captains, all of whom wish to be closely involved in our project.

The project, which will cost around £22 million, will be financed by a combination of private and public investment, plus corporate and individual sponsorship.

Subject to planning, and unforseen delays, we aim to have the Concorde on site, and open to visitors, by late 2011.

Finally, we must pay tribute to the superb design team of MET Studio Design Limited, of Southwark, who have provided us with a magnificent range of images, throughout the project.

Seriously though, I’ve often wondered why WE have NOT got a machine proudly on display in Central London – where it flew over every day it was in service pretty much for heaven’s sakes – and yet the Enterprise mob managed to get (and damage) one for NYC who never really wanted it despite one federal decision (the Coleman Hearing) and FOUR court appearances that proved the NY Port Authority were deliberately dragging their heels!

More power to you and I really do hope this plan comes to fruition!

I have no doubt it will be a long haul but 2012m is in the sights so we will see….looking at signature I must have a look at Pen and Sword again. Still in Barnsley – Leo Cooper wasn’t it?
