    Why can’t you all concentrate on the terrible disaster that is on hand instead of ranting about the ills of society and how media covers one thing more than the other?

    I have stayed away from here until now because, unless one has friends or relatives there, one can do no more than express horror at the devastation and loss of life and commiserate with the families of those who have been killed. I cannot see what else there is to say, unless it a debate about why and how and should, which is what you seem to be complaining about, Kabir.

    Tragedies of this sort always invite comment on a wider scale, don’t they?

    Yes, I am sure it is and to dozens of other volunteer supported museums and similar attractions.

    This is about MoD spending and wastage. Surely the problem is exactly the same in the MoD as it is in every other area of public life. Too much spent on admin/suppoort/backroom jobs and too little on the frontline. True the MoD is guilty of catastrophic waste but I wonder how much that is due there being far to many clerks stamping far too many bits of paper.
