Sometimes I wish we had no technology! Good decisions and bad decisions always seemed to balance each other out and the umpire’s word was always final.

That’s a one sided lump of tory trash.
The BBC earns bazillians more from other areas than we “The licence payer” puts in. Top gear sells worldwide, and all the books/DVD’s that go with it. Dickie Attenborough stuff likewise. All the Drama’s, a lot of the Sports. All sold around the world for a healthy fee. And then there is product-placement, I have no idea how much that brings in but it must be significant. It’s not as obvious as it was a few years ago, but is still clearly visible.
In essence, it is indeed the ratings that make the Stars, and the Stars create this worldwide interest and income. The Goose that lays the golden eggs springs to mind.
I’m afraid thet we have to suffer BBC1 being targetted at the bottom of the bell curve, ratings overtake quality. Thankfully, the BBC still produces outstanding quality programmes.
No idea what you mean by “one-sided lump of Tory trash”. In fact the abolishen of the Trust was proposed by the current Culture Minister.
The report tells the truth, unpalatable though it may be and BBC Worldwide, which is the beneficiary of the large income from BBC sales should be sold and be a quite separate entity. The BBC should not be a commercial trading organisation at all. It is not meeting its public remit and it is throwing its money ( our money ) at ratings lead programmes, digital channels, new premises, and a host of other items whereas the money should be spent on the highest quality, drama, current affairs, documentary and childrens’ programming.
I don’t know what is Tory trash about it. But do enlighten me.

Except that Islam4UK (am I allowed to say that now?) announced that they had given-up their intention to march through Wooton Bassett before they were banned. Did they actually even apply to the council to march in the first place? I doubt it.
How do you ban (the group formally known as) Islam4UK anyway?
Interview their members and keep them under surveillance? Close their registered offices? Freeze their bank accounts? Seize their funds? Confiscate and destroy their documents? Shut down their website? Dismantle their printing, publishing and distribution apparatus?
Honestly, it’s five blokes with a laptop..…not the Pentagon! ‘Mumsnet’ has more political clout!
If only it were……………..:(

How dare you sir, spending 1/3 of the education budget on consultants and advisors at County level and higher makes perfect sense. Likewise a rolling annual programme of refurbishment to executive offices in NHS hospitals and Flag Rank retiring on a pension of full salary. Why on earth would be spend aany of that money on accomodation, personnel or a planned procurement of equipment for front line forces. You are talking rubbish 😉
:D:D:D
Sorry, Sens, but if I have understood you, you make no sense. But in any case it is all pre-Election grandstanding, like most of the pronouncements we will have here over the next 5 months, or hopefully less.
Once the Election is over we return to the real world, possibly with a new government, and we can judge the decisions made at the time.
As one on the bottom rung of the r/c model ladder I am speechless at these beautiful photos. At this level and disregarding perspective these models are the real thing once airborne.
Do you ever get “down South” to fly them?
Islam4UK is being banned under new legislation which prohibits ” the glorification of terrorism “,which seems fair enough.

If they had wanted to convert the UK to an Islamic state solely by peaceful means, that would have been a different thing altogether.
Incidentally, when I was enjoying my sleepover with the homeless in my church hall,an Islamic gentleman knocked on the door at 2 30 a.m. and gave us two packets of Mr. Kipling cakes for them.
And of course it is the zealots like the members of islam4 uk, who are dangerous fanatics, despite how Creakingdoor sees them, and who are so unrepresentative of the majority of muslims in the uk, of which your frierndly benefactor is just one. We have a few round our way, all of whom despise what is being done and said in their name. As so often it is a crazed minority who spoil life for the majority.
