Something like that, yes. With a slant towards pomposity I suppose it’s the same as refuse collectors, or dustmen to you and me, being called Waste Management Operatives or traffic wardens being called Parking Enforcement Officers.

The thing that puzzles me is this: who are the people generally saying certain words are racist? White people. Who are the people generally saying certain words are homophobic? Straight people. The black and gay friends I have rip the p–s out of themselves far more than anyone else ever could, and if they were genuinely offended by any of this then they’d be the biggest group of people clearly saying so. That doesn’t seem to happen. What does seem to happen is that some fool with no real life in the depths of an office somewhere on a mission to try make him/herself feel important, creates these ridiculous ideas that make the majority of the sane population go… Err… What?!

Exactly right. And it goes for Jews, Muslims ( yes, even ), the Irish, short people, thin people, fat people, bald people etc etc…..amongst whom there will be a tiny minority who are offended, but then, so what?
