Here’s something to get your teeth into as a break from all the Copenhagen slush.

    It’s academic research, Sky High.

It may be a festering load of old cobblers, but no-one’s making decisions on anyone’s behalf here.

I wish you were, right, Grey Area. I fear that there really are people out there with a genuine belief that people are or might be offended by this sort of thing. The hair-tearing out going on about Guy Gibson’s dog’s name falls into the same category, as does the unavailability, except on the black (oops
! sorry ) market, of Robertsons golliwogs.

I think itn was Brent Council, but don’t quiote mje in case it was not, which banned the word “manhole cover” as being sexist. And substituted black bin refuse sacks for grey in case they offended their high percentage of black electorate.

There are countless more of these utterley stupid, PC, stories. Decisions made by little, narrow minds on behalf of a population which treats them with the disdain they deserve.

Cliff Richard must be the most well-known bachelor in the country.Does anyone know whether Paul Potts is married or not ? And I’d say an intellectual is someone who hears O Fortuna from Carmina Burana and doesn’t immediately think of Old Spice.

Do intellectuals use Old Spice – as a deoderant, that is?

No. Younger drivers, particularly male, have a higher proportion of accidents, becoming safer as middle age is reached but then increasing again as senility approaches.

    Moggy

    So, Moggy, you are..erm…middle aged??:)

I have a Virgin Media ‘V-Plus’ box, similar to Sky Plus but with an extra tuner built in. The box is connected via HDMI and therefore performs an upscaling operation on standard definition output. I think this makes a big difference, certainly better than Freeview. It even makes some of my own efforts look in focus !:D

This is interesting. Where can I go to get more info, other than the obviously biased info from Virgin? I have a Skybox now so can I simply replace it with the Virgin box or is there some tecchie stuff involved? And sorry, I am a wimp in matters televisual – HDMI?
