How would a 9-ship Typhoon display differ from the current display in respect of the performance envelopes of both aircraft?

I respect your point of view but I do not believe that discussion of the accident and any repercussions, which may or not follow as crass. I happen to believe that the future of the Red Arrows and the weekends tragedy will have nothing to do with each other, but others may have other views.

Tragedies happen all the time and lives are lost, often in appalling circumstances in every walk of life, but that does not mean that everything else stops. Neville Duke’s display following John Derry’s death somehow exemplifies the point I am trying to make.

Linc – I am surprised that you manage to “go about your daily business” without buying anything which is manufactured in China. And of course where components are involved you probably would not know. I wonder where your PC and its chip were made. But perhaps I am wrong…..;)

Although the abbreviation “plane” is usually acceptable.

Pagen – thank you for #42. I agree with every word!!:) There was speculation in a broadsheet yesterday or today about the Arrows changing to T2s with an estimated cost for the conversion of £180 million. Whether that figure makes any sense or not I would have no idea.

That is quite correct but I think you will find that many years ago it came to mean a conventional “coach” as well.

Eric – the French use the word charabanc because it is a French word!! And “sharra” is used down in Kent, Kev.

Words are falling in and out of usage over decades and dictionaries of usage are constantly in need of updating – if indeed they serve any purpose at all.

Most people tend to use the words and phrases they have always used and I doubt they are often misunderstood. I expect that airport, aerodrome and airfield will all still be in use in another 10 years.

I made no reference whatsoever to the accident having anything to do with the aircraft’s age – in fact I was not even discussing the accident. Please read posts carefully before responding.
