Let’s all talk about kippers then shall we? 😉 It’s no good just complaining about something, do something about it…
Joss Stone ‘The Soul Sessions’
Lovely shots Robbo…really like the second picture – very natural 🙂
Where were you flying from, Anna?
Never forgotten.
Glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves, gentlemen (and ladies ;)) I enjoyed the show too, and it was good to catch up with you all 🙂
Becka
P.S. Andy, Bigglesworth/Nick was the projectionist too 😉
In the microwave? Certainly not!
Hmmmm…reminds me of the time I was doing scrambled eggs in the microwave, and was using a metal whisk to stir them…only I forgot to take the whisk out and bunged the eggs with whisk back in the microwave…cue much hissing and crackling from the microwave…hastily remove eggs, have temporary ageorge moment and picked the whisk up.
Had the inprint of the whisk handle on my fingers for weeks afterwards 😮
Oh and to answer the original question, I find goose too greasy, so it’s turkey for me…acompanied with sausage and bacon rolls, nice crispy sage and onion stuffing (I don’t like it all doughy, so I plonk it in a pyrex lid, squish it down tight, dollop a couple of chunks of sunflower spread on top, and bung it in the oven – more flavoursome that way, too) spicy red cabbage (cooked for hours and hours and hours, the longer the better) crispy roast potatoes (I don’t bother removing the skins or parboiling them and all that jazz, I just cut them up into small chunks, throw them in the baking tray and drizzle them with olive oil, and shove in oven) crispy parsnips, and brussel sprouts…and a hefty dollop of redcurrant jelly (personally not overly keen on cranberry sauce, but will eat if it’s the only thing available
~Drool~ Now I’m hungry 😀
I hadn’t realised that Waitrose had started doing microwave goose dinners.
Oh dear.
Tin hat on 😉 😀 :diablo:
…chicken 😀
Trumper…the display you are thinking of is the Dawn Patrol exhibition…always got shivers down my spine walking through there.
Phillip…quite agree with flying the RAF ensign, and I have enquired about this, and is something I shall continue to pursue…but I agree with James that the Stars and Stripes should be flown alongside as well (and correct station number James :)) But, I really have to ask, what do you do for a living Phillip? I’m guessing it’s not working in a major museum. Please don’t assume that major museum = major pots of money, and infinite sources – that includes man/womanpower as well as the financial element. But please, if you want to make these suggestions to the Museum (plus the basic gist of your British aviation thread) please do…you might be surprised…
Same goes for you Dave, send them an e-mail 🙂
Never forgotten.
If someone else funds it, fine, but please make the figures of the real heroes – not a bunch of movie stars.
Alternatively why not have the museum staff all dressed in RAF blue… Ashley, any comments? :diablo:
😀 😀 😀 I wouldn’t say no, actually 🙂
Right, who mentioned George Formby…~reads back~…ooooh curse you Dave Homewood 😀 I will now have “When I’m cleaning windows” stuck in my head all afternoon…and this is my least favourite song of all time…it just makes me want to grab his ukele and slam it down hard on his head…shoving it somewhere would also be good :diablo: :dev2: :diablo:
I like instrumental 1940s style music – Glenn Miller, Charlie Kunz sorta stuff…stuff that gets you in the mood…the aviation mood that is before Snapper and co start up…mind you if that’s what floats your boat 😀 Not a great fan of warbling…bit of Vera Lynn is alright mind but not too hot on the likes of Gracie Fields…
Happy (belated) birthday! 🙂
Oh dear…this (almost) makes the Fast Food Rocker’s Song sound like Shakespeare…
Rob…thank you for posting this here…I do hope this means that you have reconsidered your decision to leave these forums, for these forums are not just for posting photos and info, but for debates too – all are part of the learning process for us all. Everyone has something to offer, and we can all benefit from the knowledge and expertise of others here.
It would be a boring old world if everyone agreed now, wouldn’t it? 😉
