Hi
This thread sent me searching through my packed boxes (moving house) for a postcard i remembered seeing.
Dated only by the sender and postmark on the reverse as 19th June 1912.
Would this be one and the same?
(The card lists no other details)
Hi Peter,
Just a couple on that day – if you’ll forgive the angle – you can the see lights! Took a couple of attempts before i timed it right – i’ve had to gamma correct it a smidge – my digi is showing it’s age and doesn’t like low light. EOS it isn’t.

XM575
Hi
I don’t know exactly how much of the electrics work in ‘575, but when i last when past on the 6th Nov they were busy with batteries and some external lights were on.
Didn’t stop long though as was passing by and it was a bit soggy.
Cheers!
Hi All,
Sorry for the late reply – glad to get some +ve feedback about the site!
TMN – Thanks again for your recent contributions – was able to get your images from Boulton Paul, Woburn and Little Gransden in the listings in addition to the Liberator and Valiant.
A number of other forumites have images on the site or have provided information – thanks also!!
Michael
Great idea!
Working title along the lines of ‘Airshow Tycoon’ then?
Truely sad it’s come to this…
Is it possible that Ebay should look to the fact that this listing may not be accurately discribing the condition…
I mean the fact that it’s got engines (see auction title) does seem to be rather a mute point. 😮
P.S.
Suspect Distillers colour pic of Buffalo in lake is the a/c in question.
Check todays Papers.
Interesting article pages 20-21 of the Independant.
Titled ‘ The Fighter Plane that would not die’
Basically is a story about the Finns efforts in getting the last surviour home from the states where it is currently headed for/under restoration.
The aircraft was ditched on Big Kali Lake 25th June ’42 by Lieutenant Lauri Pekuri a 10+victory ace (who survived). Was raised from the lake in ’88.
Cheers!
(forgive me for posting in both Buffalo Threads)

I understand that the owner of the spitfire rep has recently aquired Canberra B.2 WD954 (April 2005). Do not know it’s condition however.
Here’s the only pic i have of the info for the spitfire rep.
A reasonably recent computer with a dedicated (second) hard drive, a firewire (IEEE-1394) Port (or USB – preferably 2.0 – port – depending on your camera make/model), soundcard & speakers, a DVD-/+RW drive, and a copy of Pinnacle Studio 9.0 is what you need. I can help there 😉
Hi,
Thanks to a friend of mine i have just got a firewire card as my USB is 1.0. Yet, i’m using the software that came with the camera (Sony TRV245E) and i think thats the issue. Oh… and only a CDRW. I’ll PM when on-line after weekend if thats ok.
For now – gf took this pic at end of show:
I thought it was a great display and certainly look forward to seeing JJ display again. I took some digivideo, but not much. As the camera is quite new to me i’ll PM when I work out how to get a decent video file from it!
For now though here’s a token of my appreciation (hopefully):
Swift
Was it the only Swift on display at RIAT?
The latest e-mail news from Southampton Hall of Aviation mentions that:
“As you are aware we are displaying aircraft at Fairford this year. Regretfully due to transportation problems we are unable to take the Sea-Venom, however we will have the Spitfire Replica, the Scimitar and the latest addition to our exhibits – the Supermarine Swift!!! – More of the Swift in the next Newsletter.”
Their news letter can be recieved by registering in the pop-up that comes up on going to the site at:
Is this a case of 2+2=4?
