Against much bigger combined forces of China and Pakistan our best bet will be on such smart and asymmetric weapons.

Pakistan has also invest heavily in smart munitions.

Ask Abhimanyu he said it, I was just explaining to Insiq what Abhi said. 🙂

Yeah, suspected as much. Tragically for you both that is the basis for your arguments and opinions. You just tried to accuse a senior PAF officer of sayingdetrimental things about LCA without knowledge of the facts when both of you (probably after searching Google in a panic!) have no evidence to support your claims.

This is embaressing isit not? Especially when on this very thread a few posts ago I was asked for a link about my claims regarding IAF loding a protest to USAF and put up my evidence immediately…

What he meant was, the former PAF commented on LCA in a bad way without even seeing it, while the former IAF chief checked out the JF 17 simulator and he appreciated it.

And do you have a link to this?

    CNO Welcomes Pakistan Counterpart

WASHINGTON (NNS) — Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Gary Roughead officially welcomed his Pakistan counterpart during a Full Honors Ceremony March 18 at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.

CNO hosted Chief of Naval Staff Adm. Noman Bashir at the ceremony to help promote global maritime partnerships and reinforce his commitment to strengthening the bonds between the two navies.

“United States and Pakistan have a strategic relationship and one that is based upon a common interest in peace, security and then prosperity,” said Roughead.

Roughead expressed his gratitude toward the Pakistan Navy and its role given the current global climate.

“Relationships between our navies are deeply important,” said Roughead. “And we are appreciative, extremely appreciative, for the leadership, for the involvement of the Pakistan Navy in the peace and stability of such an important region of the world.”

During the ceremony, CNO presented Bashir with the Legion of Merit on behalf of the secretary of defense for his continued cooperation to the countries mutual endeavors.

“The future of all nations are made stronger by the cooperation of all navies and Admiral Bashir is a visionary leader who understands this and will lead his navy to a glorious future,” said Roughead.

More missile test by PN, this time a SAM. Would not be suprised if it was part of PAF’s High Mark 2010 exercise.

Pakistan Navy test fires another missile

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy has test fired another missile, according to an ISPR (Navy) press release issued on Tuesday. The press release said, this was on the heels of “a string of missile firing conducted by Pakistan Navy over the last week. A Pakistan Navy Guided Missile Destroyer undertook surface-to-air missile firing today which scored a direct hit”. Anti-air warfare capability is another manifestation of the Navy’s offensive punch and the surface-to-air missile is capable of intercepting targets at extremely high speeds. It is a state of the art, fully automated system, which can track and engage even very small targets, the press release states. app

Other Air Forces, including the PAF, USAF, and RAF are criticised on an almost weekly basis. The refute claims or let their actions speak louder then their words. No need to rush to an embassey and demand a retraction. That is not the sign of a growing, confident air force, which I know the IAF actually is.

My point is made very well by the reaction and language of some of the posters here.

The real shame about the whole episode is that in the future, pilots may be reluctant to express views on the record for fear of hysterical overreaction. Thats a shame and means we all lose out…

No issue here. Simply (and as a Journolist I am sure you will fully appreciate this). The good Col is not here to defend himself. It is only fair that before totally discounting what he says it may be worth giving him a chance to reply to the allegations that he has no knowledge of what went on? Or do we only take on dies view? I hope you can appreciate that…

I have never stated IAF did not perform well. To the contrary, I am sure they performed credibly.

What I do have an issue with is the sensitivity and reactions by not just the IAF but also members of this forum. Just look at this thread? What other air force rushes to the US embassey to complain about a Youtube clip?

Thanks, you are right, 9 sqd do indeed rock! 😉

Interesting news on PAF helping defeat LTTE

“The UK had been training Army cadets since Independence. Subsequently they were sent to India and more recently Army and Air Force officers were trained in Pakistan. The latter got UAV’s which played an important role in the war and other sophisticated equipment from Pakistan and not from the west.”
