It can be safely assumed that by the time Pakistan gets the FC-20 with AESA, the MKIs will also have an AESA radar.

All of the MRCA competitors have AESA as well so it is not much of a contest if it goes to an all out war.

But you are right the Pakistani strategi of Several squadrons of FC 20/ F 16 52+ and JF 17 to make up numbers should provide enough detterence. (i.e. It will not be a walk in the Park as it is now 🙂 )

I dont think any war in the Sub-continent will ever be a “walk in the park” for any party involved. Such talk shows very very little knowledge of the reality of war. Adding a smiley at the end amplifies the type of statement you just made……

The Jag has almost had its day unless seriously upgraded tp cope with a modern ADGE.

    No terrain following radar
    Still underpowered
    No self protection jammer
    No stand off capability

I would say alot of work needs to be done upgrading these.

The Snecma thing may be used to bargain with GE/Eurojet on their engine order.

I think if successful it will be used for the MCA as well as re engining the MK 1 LCAs at a future date.

So basically nothing is certain is what we are actually saying?

Non oen actually knows for sure and I have a feeling that in their quest to desperatley try and get their engine ustalled, the makers of Kaveri may delay the LCA project.

If Kaveri selected it may not be up to the job and if GE/Eurojet selected people wil shout a domestic equievelent could have been used.

The R.N.Z.A.F Strikemasters used Strategic Underwing Luggage Pods to carry aircrew bags. I believe they were made from redundant A-4 drop tanks and had a removeable nose section.

Rumour has it that they were mainly used for carrying Crayfish & beer.

They sure would be cold after a long range high altitude flight….

Why did PAF not send the older and more comparable F7p?

    Good point

I think thats actually whats being implied when discussing Iranian F-7s. PAF’s main presence would be to simulate IRIAF birds.

    I was talking about Iranian F 7s.

Apologies. I think Iran uses basic F-7 version with Chinese radar, avionics and missiles.

You are right, they should be updated, but this will always be a problem for Iran as they dont have access to Western tech and a Bison type upgrade may not work on the airframe.

The U.S.A do not give aid to these countries as handouts. They do it for a variety of reasons aimed at serving their interest in the respective regions.

    Obviously. Thats a given.
