On their way to Southend for the Vulcan day, from Doncaster. Bucc, Canberra, DH125 and Valletta.
Geoff – that’s not the same chap.
I think I bumped into Brian only once in the last few years on my now sporadic visits up to the Museum. He was never a real ‘regular’ although his project was displayed there for a while quite a few years back, consisting of the bare tubular front fuselage including engine bearers and separately the massive front radiator assy. To my eternal regret I never managed to photograph it whilst there. Since then I understand it has been in secure storage somewhere in Coventry.
Photographed, by myself, when on display at the Torbay Museum
Although there is nothing on their website, I believe a number of cockpit sections have moved from HAM to Morayvia, including the Valiant?
The Vulcan move was to Tees-Valley airport for their airshow last year.
The Jag is XX146, ex Everett’s from Sproughton
I had not seen an issue recently, after the problems earlier in the year, but just been redirected to a page suggesting I had won a competition (similar to that described above) looks like the Site has been hacked again! I’m running Android on a tablet…
The Harrier is XW270 – its been there a number of years. The Scout (not Wasp) referenced above, is residing at the Midland Air Museum, still owned by the University and is used by University Students on days out.
Looks like XS885 formerly of Predannack https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/registration/XS885 doesn’t look like the past few years has been kind to it.
Rob
I would agree with that assessment, XS885 was advertised for sale by eBay very recently and was noted road running some days later.
It was transferred from Culdrose to Predannack, then returned back to CU, the eBay pics included in the sales blurb were taken at the later location.
There are not many HAS1’s left, even fewer (if any) other than XS885 in such a distinctive scheme….
A more up to date list here, with pictures of most:
You must have missed the Vimy, Stranraer, Southampton, Hawker Hart, the Gladiator and Westland Wallace then ……ah but the Wallace is scheduled to go into storage.
The Wallace has gone into storage at Stafford, pictured there in a FB post during the week
Any ideas what its from?
That’s a Meteor Nose Cone, can just see one of the gunport scallops in one of the pictures.

I found this comment on another web site. This maybe another clue for you to chase up.
Bill Griffin, 28.09.2008
As an ex apprentice of AWA ;I thought the Siskin was an important machine in the history of aviation. So when some years ado I was struck down with cancer; as a project I did a search for technical info on it. As a result, I saved some company construction drawings and have a copy of the AP. I endeavoured to chase up the remains of a Siskin that was supposed to be in a scrap yard in Canada, close to the Niagra Falls. I know it was there at some time previously; however my health was such that even with the best of intentions, my effort proved worthless. If anyone reads this who may know this scrap yard, will they please on my behalf pick up where I left off. You never know it could still be there.
I knew Bill Griffin, he was living up the road from my Parents at the time, probably around 20 years ago. he had obtained a whole stash of GA and detail drawings from the Daughter of H. M. Woodhams, who was Chairman and Managing Director of A.W.A. They had been originally supplied to help produce a scale model for a relative apparently.
Although very far from complete, it was an interesting collection. Sadly I have had no contact in the intervening years and often wonder what has happened to them.
No idea on final price, but its new owner has already posted up a FB page
