Get that stupid blue flag off my number plate.

Its not compulsory to have the blue ‘flash’ on your number plate, it never has been. My brother took delivery of his new Volvo last Friday, told the dealer that he did not want the ‘Europlate’ so he doesn’t have one.

I’ve never had strong views either way on the EU. But I do have a question for those who want out. Since we joined all those years ago, world trade patterns, globalisation, and the emergence of the ‘tiger’ economies of Asia and South America have transformed the international landscape, where will we fit into this scenario if we do come out. I’d be really grateful to anyone here who can put my mind to rest on this. At the moment, I’m leaning towards staying put, but I’m ready to be swayed.;)

Alas, most if not all, never to be seen again. As usual V, some lovely shots. Especially the SPs, the JATs, and that Balkan. Imagine working that apron on a staple diet of DC3s, 4s, 6s, 7Cs etc, not too mention the early turboprops and jets…………aaah, another glass of nostalgia for me please, and make it a large one:)

Some stunning images. Really like the Egyptair, I hear that there are quite a few spare seats on the MSR778 these days, a great shame.

Some classy images. Especially the Egyptair and Etihad. Not that I’m biased in any way:)

Excellent pics! I used to love my bi-annual visits to the T2 rooftop. It used to be a real thrill to see the big names ‘up close’ My main interest was, and still is, the ‘eastern bloc’ stuff, an array of Tupolevs and Ilyushins…..Happy Days! Thanks for sharing those, and more anytime please:)

Just goes to show I guess, that sanctions are ineffective in almost all scenarios in which they’ve been used. I’m sure we’ll be seeing Iranian Airbuses and Boeings ‘gracing’ our skies for many years to come, sanctions or no sanctions.

Some nice shots there. On a recent trip to the south of Italy, we saw two of their CL215s doing their business a couple of kms from our apartment. They’re based at the nearby Lamezia Terme airport.

Some nostalgic snaps there, nice to see them. From 1982 to ’89 I worked for Servisair at Stansted, and we used to see Inex Adria, along with JAT and Aviogenex. I know that we used to handle a mail flight involving EMA, but I can’t remember the airline. I used to get up to EMA couple of times a year to see what was about, and to treat myself to a model or two from the Airtrans shop in the terminal. Happy Days.:)

I quite enjoyed the first two episodes. A nice bit of escapism with a G+T or two:) Some good footage in the following documentary.
