    1. The games will make money…………..for who?

    2. The games will be a success……………possibly.

    3. A chance for GB to show the world there is still some G in the GB….if you say so.

    For negative vibes, read realism.

When the games are over, and after all the ‘organisers’ and hangars on have taken their token £10 each out of the pot, yeah right, it’ll be very interesting to see the arithmetic. When you strip away all the flags and the balloons, sadly, thats what it all come down to. Its all the ‘piggies at the trough’ behind the scenes that really wind me up. You’ll find them involved everywhere in enterprises like this, as well as in politics…Ooops, but maybe thats a topic for another thread on another day:diablo:

There’s 2 for me. Yamaha RD125 ‘coffin tank’ and a couple of years later, an RD400, a very unforgiving machine if you didn’t treat her right.

Darren, as ever some great shots. Those pics of yours have really sparked some ‘Stansted memories’ for me. We used to work a Busy Bee 737-200 every Sunday afternoon. I remember that it was the first 737 that I had ever seen with a ‘gravel kit’. It also had its integral steps at the aft passenger door, with none at the fwd. I don’t think that we ever handled any passengers for the Arnarflug Boeings, although my log/diary reminds me that I did put weather paperwork and ‘gen dec’ forms on them on 2 occasions prior to departure from the ATEL hangar.

I do indeed, and I really don’t think we’re alone.

I’m sure that there are, but it doesn’t mean that some won’t pick up a gun for some much needed money, to ‘help’ the regime out. I’m sure that in some footage shown on Al Jazeera last Friday of mercenaries being rounded up by revolutionaries, that there appeared to be some whites that were rounded up also. As ever AJ say that the footage cannot be verified as genuine. Has anyone else seen this or other clips showing white participants with the mercenaries?

Nostalgic shots for me darren. Both the 330 and the F27 look as though they are on what we called ‘the side stands’ at STN. This was where, due to the small number of Air UK mvts at weekends, the based a/c sat. I can’t be absolutely sure but if the F27 IS at STN, then the young lady under the tail could be one of my colleagues from Servisair.

A lovely shot Oz. Not many ‘airline type’ liveries on these. I can remember seeing a Lockheed Jetstar back in the early 80s at LTN, and I’m sure it was in Libyan Arab colours. (sore point at the mom, I know).

    That is really boring.

IMO most liveries are these days. At least the crane is back.

I’m very grateful sir. I really was starting to believe I’d lost the plot. Ordering it now. Thanks.
