Hi Duggy
Thank you for your input, i haven’t seen this photo as yet would you have a link for it.
Cheers
A nice item you have there Tony, especially being of an E variant, im well jealous.
Just looking back on your earlier reply in regards to having the actual screen with a mount do you know of its variant would it be (E) or the later armoured type?
Me109
Hi Rocketeer
Below are some images including Me109, Me110, and Dornier aircraft unfortunately there are no close ups but you can just make out the single stem bracket.
Interesting in regards to your mirror if you dont mind me asking did it come with any history? also would you mind putting on image on so i could compare, one other question does yours the same FL number?
cheers Brad.
Hi Duggy
This is what i had gathered also apparently the pilots never felt the mirrors were required as some mentioned once they saw a Spitfire on there tail it was possibly curtains anyway.
Your photo shows a three bracket fixing it to the canopy i also have this photo along with another that shows a one bracket fixing which i would say is the same as the one that i have, ill try and download it along with a couple of others, one of which is fitted to the side canopy of a Dornier.

Hi John
The only info i have in regard to the previous path of ownership is that i purchased it at Crowland aero jumble earlier in the month, apparently it came from a scrapyard auction, maybe someone on here may even no the seller as he was positioned at the end of the farmyard barn as you look in from the front positioned at the far right corner and was selling some great items.if anyone knows of him please let me know so maybe i can ask him for more details of the purchase that he made, because as John Aerooclub has stated above it may be a path to finding possibly its identity as it would be a shame along with other relics lost in time that have lost this.
Very interesting in regards to that Missel Thrush crashed in Peebleshire during the 1928 Kings Cup, who knows as anything is possible, hopefully i can pursue this with someone elses help.
Many thanks again.
Just an update on this thread, i have had the part engine now measured accurately as very minimal difference between between prop centre and gudgeon centre and very difficult to get a true reading, it is in fact Genet 1 as it measures 2 inches across centres.
So it would fit the following aircraft.
Avro 618 Ten
Avro Avian prototype
Blackburn Bluebird I
BFW M.23
Cierva autogyros. C.9 and C.10
Drzewiecki JD-2
Fleet Fawn
Junkers A50 Junior
Medwecki and Nowakowski M.N.5
Saro Cutty Sark
Southern Martlet
Westland-Hill Pterodactyl
Would there be any others to add to this list?
Again thank you for the wealth of knowledge above in tracking down this early aircraft part engine relic that now has a true identity
Hi FLY.BUY
Some great tips there i will definitely use on my next listing.
Hope you had a great holiday, shame you missed Crowland you need make sure that you add it to next years aero jumble diary.
Brad.
Hi
Would anyone be able to help me in regards to what category on ebay you would need to enter for aircraft control yokes, grips columns etc as a seller?
